I browned the stew beef in some avocado oil, then put it to slow cook at
140F for 16 hours with a box of beef stock, and a generous amount of
freshly cracked black pepper. I scooped out some of the stock into a
cup, let that cool, then added gelatin and corn starch. I brought it
back to a boil, then stirred in the thickener, then added carrots, and simmered for about 20 minutes. Then I added S&P, MSG and ING, and the potatoes. The lid went back onto the multicooker for 15 minutes
pressure and slow release over about a half hour.

Next time I'll double the corn starch, but other that that it was
perfect. My wife said it was the best stew she'd ever had. We ate all
the carrots and potatoes, and there was meat and broth left, so I added carrots, and it's pressure cooking right now.

Definitely cut the potatoes and carrots into smaller pieces. I can't
say I've ever had to add gelatin to a beef stew. Perhaps that is what
one does when using a pressure cooker. To my way of thinking, stew is a
long slow braise after browning the meat and adding the vegetables to
the stock.

ANY blood in the water when cooking beef. I could see
someone changing the water if they want a pretty, clear

rendered from the meat and fat means flavor.

I don't know about cooks but I was in a computer shop the other day. The
guy works fast and cheap, but he sure doesn't spend any time on
cleanliness. The shop was cluttered with junk and dusty as hell. The
owner smelled bad.... really bad. He didn't have the nicotine stained

that was barely detectable compared to the stink of clothing that had
not been washed in weeks. Thank goodness he solved my issues quickly so
I could get outside and get some fresh air. I had smelled body stink
like that since the days I worked with long haul truckers.

You're confused. Leave out the bit between brackets and it's correct.

wasn't really directly responsible for colonial military actions or

You're confused. Leave out the bit between brackets and it's correct.

wasn't really directly responsible for colonial military actions or
for suppressing Islam in the Philippines."

Who would know better than a nun? My friend when to Catholic school and
was taught sex ed by a nun. They were told that if a girl hold's a boy's penis for more than 5 seconds she can get pregnant. I can't disagree completely because if a teenage girl holds a teenage boys penis for more
than five seconds it is quite likely to end up somewhere else and then pregnancy could ensue. Maybe she gets off on a technicality?
I've cooked stew in a slow cooker. It was just chuck in the slow cooker
with water to begin with. It was cooked for an hour or so, then the
water was dumped out, the meat was rinsed, and clean water was added.
This was done for clarity. The beef was cooked until done. A roux, of
oil and flour, was made in a frying pan and added to the cooker. The
veggies were added next. That's all, folks.

Part of my extended family are descendants of them. My niece's husband
has a Spanish Jewish ancestry and his ancestors back home had converted
to Catholicism. The Inquisition started shortly after the marriage of Ferdinand and Isabella and their marriage united their two kingdoms gave
them the power need to defeat the Moors. I guess the Jews became their targets after they ran out of Moors.
Spanish Catholicism was not very tolerant of heretics. It was the same religious fervor that led Spain to attempt to invade Britain and return
it to Catholicism. That didn't work out so well for them.

Yep, she had it right.
We never had sex education, aside from the schoolyard.
My first GF educated me. She was a virgin, but she damned well knew
what she wanted, and I was an excellent pupil.
All boys high school, junior year, we had a lay teacher for English. One day, when class was going to start, he said "close the doors"
we got some stories about the problems VD can cause and how toprevent it. A few more real life stories was probably the best
education about life in 12 years of school.

Maybe it is just a weird thing about the way they cook there. Some
people have strange ideas about cooking meat. Some people wash their
meat before cooking it. We had one whacko here who used to cook all the meat as soon as she got home from the store and then froze it.

barnacles) in the middle of the night. We didn't try the tarts :)

Goose barnacles is quite an unpleasant name for a food. I'd probably eat
some Patagonian sea scallops but certainly not goose barnacles.

Evidently, Mormon women can wear the garment too. They can wear bras but
that would be worn over the garment - that's not a nice look. I don't
know if they wear panties. I don't really want to know about that.
I want to know. I want *carnal knowledge* of women's bodies. In nice
ways, of course, but all five senses. One of the beauties of
heterosexuality is the appreciation of the dimorphism of characteristics.

Wonderful news! There are some new garments being phased in by the
church. These have abbreviated sleeves which expand the wardrobe options
for the faithful.

Mormons don't wear tight clothes. It's the kids - they like to talk
fast. Old folks talk too slow for them. The new garments allow them to
wear sleeveless dresses and shirts. It's really kind of sad. That's

I think organised religion's a mental illness.
It's because of man's ability to wonder about his place in the universe
and the knowledge that he's going to one day die. It's about the
creation in his mind, of a vision of time and space and the absolute
terror of it. Mankind has a very particular set of skills that can
result in an existential crisis that requires a religion to placate it.

Yes, but I wish it wouldn't lead to organised religion. Keep it
personal. Don't group up over it.

One day, machines will probably create a religion of their own.
Hopefully, it doesn't include the killing of all humans.

It is Bruce's satanic cross-product to bear.
