• OT Late night text

From Dave Smith@21:1/5 to All on Sun Apr 27 14:18:54 2025
One of my wife's friends must be lonely because she sends texts late at
night. My wife ignores them until morning. Last night we heard on come
in but the sound was coming from the direction of my phone which was
being charged. I ignored it. I ignored the one that came about an hour
    later too.

When I picked up the phone in the morning I had a look to see who had
been contacting me so late. The first one said he had just taken his
wife to the hospital and it looked like the baby would be born today.
That was at 11:45 pm. The baby was born an hour later. He came into the
world at 7.89lb and 20 inches long.

I think the new father texted him but they mistook it for a message by
one of his wife's friends and ignored it. Although the sound came from
Dave's phone and I didn't think his wife's friend sends lots of
    messages to Dave as well.

What I'd like to know is why it is of any relevance to us what the
size and weight are of a baby that was born to somebody we don't know
    nor have ever heard of.

Thanks. Yes it is the first. We had been resigned to the idea we would
not have any. In fact, our son and DiL had been vising my Sil and her
husband and DiL had told BIL that they thought that parenthood was out
for them. Our son is 47 and she is 44 and she thought the window had
closed. As it turned out, she was barely pregnant at the time she said that.

Healthy weight indeed. DiL is very slim. She is 6ft tall and weighs only
100 lb. I was afraid for her in case the baby took about me. While our
son was 7lb 6 oz I came into the world at 11 lb 10 oz. It is always interesting to tell women how much I weighed at birth and to watch their reaction.

What I'd like to know is why it is of any relevance to us what the
size and weight are of a baby that was born to somebody we don't know
    nor have ever heard of.

It's nice to know a baby was born at a healthy weight when
we're informed whether we know the parents or not.

Then I have great news for you. In the past minute 250 babies were
born and most of them had a healthy weight! Yay!

    Joan, another 250!

That's about 1800 pounds of babies. The world will collapse if we add
    that much weight every minute.

Healthy weight indeed. DiL is very slim. She is 6ft tall and weighs only
100 lb. I was afraid for her in case the baby took about me. While our
son was 7lb 6 oz I came into the world at 11 lb 10 oz. It is always interesting to tell women how much I weighed at birth and to watch their reaction.

heheh, i weighed 2lbs 6oz... without the invention of
incubators i'd not have made it. was sick with pneumonia
and bronchitis for a few months. got down below 2lbs for
a while. docs didn't even think i was alive as they could
not hear my heartbeat and sent Mom home for the inevitable
miscarriage (i don't think any hospital would do that these
days). so when i came out alive (but black due to lack of
oxygen) it was a surprise for everyone.

i just heard today of a lady giving birth to twins with
both of them being over 8&1/2lbs... yikes!

Thanks. Yes it is the first. We had been resigned to the idea we would
not have any. In fact, our son and DiL had been vising my Sil and her
husband and DiL had told BIL that they thought that parenthood was out

How can a woman be barely pregnant? I thought it was more a yes or no

Perhaps the race was still underway and no winner declared.

The point was that at the time she was talking to our BiL she had no
idea she was pregnant. That was early August. Given the gestation
period she would have been only a few weeks into it, too soon to have a
    period to miss.

Given her age, I doubt they will try for another one. You never know. My friend's daughter is about the same age. A couple years ago she was
pregnant but miscarried. I was surprised to hear just a few months later
that she was pregnant again. Everything worked out with that and she
had a beautiful little boy. Then she got pregnant again and had a little
girl. Despite the high risk for older mothers everything worked out well.

I'm surprised that folks is surprised at Trump's actions since taking
office. Everything he is doing - close the border, deportations,
tariffs, negotiate a settlement to the war in Ukraine - these were all
included in his campaign. Now, granted he's doing it in a "unique" way,
but everything he has done is according to campaign promises...

Perhaps we've gotten accustomed to politicians making bold promises they
never fulfill (i.e., Biden was going to find a cure for cancer). No one
should be surprised at Trump's actions.//

Uh, no thank you. I think I'll bake another skillet of cornbread.
Bruce has an odd aversion to anything made with corn. ;)

Keep up with the times, Bruce. Nowadays pregnancy can be

Someone please tell me Bruce didn't reproduce. ;)

It's a shame you and Bruce never got together for a hot
weekend in Hawaii.  If you'd produced twins rfc could have
    named them Brill and Juice.
