Just saw that Tennessee had a 4.1 earthquake. I never experienced one
but sounds like fun if you don't get any damage.

That is a significant quake. Meanwhile, on the west coast, there are
rumblings along the Jaun de Fuca Ridge and they are expecting a volcano.

Um... Joan is in Nashville. Knoxville is in east TN. I hope she didn't
have any problems but somehow I doubt it.

Just for fun, there was an earthquake when I was a teenager in Memphis.
Memphis is on the west side of the state and is right on the New Madrid
fault line that runs from Marked Tree Arkansas up to Illinois. There
was a quake back in 1976. My maternal grandmother had just died so my
mother was out of town to attend her funeral. It was just me and my
father in the house. I was in my bedroom, reading a book, when the
bedside lamp started swaying back and forth. I got up and walked to the bedroom door and felt a jolt and the ground rumbled. I went to the
living room and my father said "Pack a bag, we might have to leave." My
16 year old self said "And go where?" Seriously. Where did he think we
were going to go? Nowhere. He got on the phone with Mom and told her
we had an earthquake. She thought he was joking. I think there were a
few little aftershocks but we didn't feel them. The epicenter was about
    300 miles north.

I'm sure Joan will let us know if she's okay. And if she's actually
making Shake & Bake chicken for dinner. :)

I must have slept through that quake; first I've heard
of this! I do remember a tremor in the mid 60's and
thought a severely unbalanced washing machine was causing
    the house to shake.

This new one occurred in east Tennessee, and I would have
expected it to originate in west Tennessee within the
New Madrid fault line. This is surprising.

I felt one here about 30 years ago. It was disconcerting to feel the
ground shaking. It was only something like 3.5 on the Richter scale and
the epicenter was somewhere in central Quebec, about 400 miles or more
from here. I can't imagine what it would be like to be close to the
epicenter of a bigger quake. The scale is logarithmic, so each number
on the scale indicates it is 10 times stronger.

We don't get much earthquakes in Hawaii. The last sizable one we had was
around 2001. I got on the shag rug on our bedroom spread eagle. I really

Turkeys will occasionally forage with deer and squirrels, and may even
    play with them...

By foraging together, each can help the other watch for predators with
their different senses: the deer with their improved olfactory sense,
the turkey with its superior sight, and squirrels providing an
additional set of eyes from the air...

Don't go stealing vodka in the airport:

Woman Swipes $25 Vodka Bottle At JFK Airport Bar, Slips It In Her Bag,
Walks To Gate Like Nothing Happened — Could Get A Year In Jail

    https://viewfromthewing.com/woman-swipes-25-vodka-bottle-at-jfk-airport-bar-slips-it-in-her-bag-walks-to-gate-like-nothing-happened-could-get-a-year-in-jail/

"A woman sitting at a bar at New York JFK’s terminal JetBlue terminal 5 decided to steal a bottle of Belvedere vodka and stick it in her carry
on bag when the bartender wasn’t looking. And the bottle heist is on
    video...

Plenty of passengers are sick of outrageous airport bar prices and many airports offer alcohol to go, but combining these ideas as this
passenger does is a bad idea...

This is a $25 bottle of vodka – surely not worth the legal hassle over, although someone is selling an empty bottle on eBay for $20 so there’s
some resale opportunity here as well perhaps...

Theft of $25 in New York is prosecuted as petit larceny under Penal Law
§ 155.25 (Class A misdemeanor). While that can carry a sentence of up to
364 days in jail and fine up to $1,000 (or up to twice the loss), as
well as restitution of the $25 to the victim, “adjournment in
contemplation of dismissal” seems more likely given the sub-$100 amount
    – so that if the thief avoids new charges for six months, the case could
    be dismissed and sealed..."

I am a serious student of history... this is what I am reading now:

'The Second World War’s Masters and Commanders' - NATIONAL REVIEW/Book

The Strategists: Churchill, Stalin, Roosevelt, Mussolini, and Hitler --
How War Made Them and How They Made War, by Phillips Payson O’Brien
    (Dutton, $35.00)

"The world obviously does not lack for books on World War II or its
    major leaders.

Yet such is the enduring interest in the subject that there is always
room for another one, and the newest book by the scholar Phillips Payson O’Brien on Churchill, Stalin, Roosevelt, Mussolini, and Hitler as
    strategists is a worthy entry...

    [...]

As for Stalin, he started catastrophically, aiding Hitler’s war effort
right up to the moment it was turned against him...

    Necessity forced him to change...

The postwar return of his paranoid style of leadership meant that he
squandered what could have been one of the great victories of World War
II — the permanent anchoring of the USSR as part of the dominant
    grouping of states...

Instead, he precipitated the Cold War that led, ultimately, to the
    destruction of the Soviet Union...

Churchill, in contrast, had a clear postwar aim: the preservation of the British Empire...

Despite his being a great captain of war and doing everything he
reasonably could to muster and preserve British power, the empire still
    slipped away...

FDR was probably the greatest success of all the grand strategists in
the ways and means of modern warfare...

He bolstered the U.K. and Soviet Union with prodigious material aid,
while at the same time he crushed the economic life out of the Axis with air-sea power...

All of this repays our attention and is a reminder of how there is
    nothing inevitable in history...

The choices and predilections of leaders can bring national triumph, or catastrophe and unfathomable suffering..."

They are a different Type of volcano to those around the Ring Of Fire,

only minor rumblings when the lava chambers are filling etc.

some of the things he screwed up.

The market is just recouping some of the loss from last time.  It is not over yet.

There is still a long way to go and it's going to be a long time before
he recovers the lost friendships and trust. Canadians are still
thoroughly pissed off. While Trump has played the America first line
Canadians have most definitely opted to shop local. Grocery stores now
show the origin of their products and people are definitely avoiding
American products and American produce. A couple weeks ago I was in a
grocery store and American strawberries were marked down to less than
half the usual price and no one was buying them. The LCBO has removed
all American alcohol from its stores. Border crossings are way down.
Retailers on the American side are crying the blues about the loss of
Canadian customers and a lot of people have cancelled plans to vacation
in the US. Sure Trump and his loyal supporters are claiming they don't
need out business, but the people in the tourist business are definitely hurting from it. It may be only 20-30% of their tourism business but
that can mean the difference between a profitable year and a losing
year.... and it is not just Canadians.

It's like having a spouse or a good friend who has stabbed you in the
back. People can get over the initial shock, but the love and the trust
    is gone.

There is an island at the north end of the Canadian province of Nova

GREAT days for the Trump administration and YOU, David!

So many of you are foolishly joining your anyone-but-Trump allies in the liberal media to denigrate any good news that comes out of the White
    House....

    How SAD for you...!!!

    The market is nearly back to where it was;

    another hostage is released, much too the thermal happiness of the man’s grateful family;

Finland and Norway are gravitating toward more free market principles to
    help pay for Trump-prompted increases in defense spending;

    Germany too has committed to improving its currently feckless military;

a thawing of relations with China has begun as the USA looks to prompt
    this formidable nation toward a friendlier, fairer trade partnership;

Trump is in the Arabian peninsula looking to sign a trillion + dollar
    trade partnership with S.A., Qatar and the U.A.E;

talks with a suddenly anxious Putin are moving forward in Switzerland as
    the USA tries to broker a peace between Russia and Ukraine;

    the first of more deals to come with Great Britain have born fruit;

    the Houthis are no longer taking fearless shots at our navy;

costly Somali piracy off their western coast of Africa is almost
    nonexistent as our navy has increased anti - piracy efforts;

and GAS is down over 50 cents/gallon since 2024...

Not bad despite the fits and starts of the past 100+ days...!!!

But peeps complain about the potential gift of a jet to the White House
    which will save $450,000,000...

Good Lord, really? Like Trump can’t afford his own jet!

He is going to ask Congress for its imprimatur, per legal requirements,
because we (Boeing) can’t even build a bloody Air Force 1 jet and our presidents are flying around in a 41 year-old airliner...

    Most Embarrassing, really...!!!

Is Bernie " the man of the peoples " Sanders your HERO, David...

    NY Times:

Energy watchdog exposes eye-popping carbon footprint of Sanders'
    jet-setting tour: 'Fake socialist'

"As Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders continues to travel around the country
on his "Fighting Oligarchy" tour, while at the same time defending his
use of private jets to do so, an energy watchdog group has calculated
the true scope of the carbon emissions his flights have emitted...

During the 16 stops of the tour, which Sanders embarked on with the help
of progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, his private jet emitted a
total of 62.15 tonnes, or metric tons, of carbon dioxide, according to
an estimate from Power the Future...

To put that in perspective, Power the Future said in a press release
that the emissions equate to burning 62,600 pounds of coal, driving a gas-powered SUV 150,000 miles, powering every home in Sanders’ hometown
of Burlington, Vermont, for weeks, and powering nine U.S. homes for an
    entire year...

Power the Future also calculated that Sanders generated more carbon
dioxide emissions on this single tour than the average American produces
in five years. Additionally, the group says that the emissions undo the carbon-capturing work of nearly 2,900 trees over the course of a year...

"Sen. Sanders has voted for legislation punishing people for their
carbon footprint and threatening fossil fuel executives with prison for
climate change hysteria, but his personal actions demonstrate he’s just another limousine liberal, a fake socialist, unwilling to live what he
    wants to impose on you..,"

    operandi.

    He's very "crafty"...

It's called "The ART of the DEAL"...

Yes, he's had six bankruptcies to prove it.

    Cry me a river, Ed...

Trump got the world's attention and started making deals...

From the moment the tariffs were announced it was made clear he was
willing to negotiate and those that came to the table first would get
    the best deals...

It was not chaos; rather "strategic disruption"...

PS: Business bankruptcies are simply a very routine "financial

Screw that cheap Chinese shite, President Trump is busy "importing"
WHITE peoples into the US, much more sensible...!!!

    NBC NOOZE:

White South Africans arrive in the U.S. as refugees, protected under
    Trump's carve out

The newly arrived people are from the ethnic minority of Afrikaners, the
group of whites who ruled South Africa during apartheid.

    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/white-south-africans-arrive-us-refugees-protected-trumps-carve-rcna206373

"American officials welcomed a group of 59 white South Africans at
Washington Dulles International Airport on Monday afternoon, in a
ceremony greeting them as refugees under the argument that they are
fleeing discrimination and racially based violence in their home
    country...

The newly arrived people are from the ethnic minority of Afrikaners, the
group of whites who ruled South Africa during apartheid. The dozens that
came Monday, including families with young children, arrived via a
flight chartered by the State Department...

Their resettlement in the U.S. comes as the Trump administration has
shut down refugee admissions from almost all other countries, including Afghanistan, Sudan, the Republic of Congo and Myanmar...

In an executive order issued on Feb. 7, Trump said the United States
would help with resettling “Afrikaner refugees escaping
government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation.” He condemned what he called the country’s “shocking disregard of its citizens’ rights,” specifically stating the government had seized the agriculture property of white
    Afrikaners without compensating them...

The executive order also said the United States would no longer provide
aid or assistance to South Africa...

It came after a new South African land law went into effect and seems to reflect the views of Elon Musk, the head of the Trump's Department of Government Efficiency who was born and raised in South Africa..."

Trump increased tariffs on Chinese goods from about 5-8% to 20% in 2018.

They're made in various countries. South Korea, China, Vietnam,
Mexico, the United States, India. Depends on the brand.

Trump given Cybertruck motorcade through Qatar after fighter-jet escort

    https://nypost.com/2025/05/14/us-news/trump-given-cybertruck-motorcade-through-qatar-after-fighter-jet-escort/

"DOHA, Qatar — President Trump was given a cybertruck-led motorcade
through the streets of Qatar’s capital city Wednesday...

Two of the distinctive Tesla vehicles, with red-painted hoods, drove
    ahead of the procession...

Trump landed in Qatar, the second of three Middle Eastern nations he
will visit this week, after the oil and gas-rich emirate gave Air Force
    One an eight fighter-jet escort...

The trip, focused on fostering business ties, has been heavy on
over-the-top tributes to Trump, with the Saudis also giving the
presidential plane a fighter-jet escort before riders atop white Arabian
    horses trotted alongside his motorcade...

Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler, crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, even
drove Trump to a state dinner using a golf cart in a homage to the
commander in chief’s fondness for the sport..."

May I assume that you'd like eggs to be ten bux a dozen to "spite"

Tourist income down $12B this year too.

That's "disposable" income... in the case of Canada, the loonie is very
low against the US dollar, plus which Canucks only make 70% of what
Americans make, so natcherly fewer will be coming to the states... they
    simply don't have the money...

Same for Europeans, their currency is low against the dollar, and
Europeans are generally poorer, so less to spend on expensive travel to
    the US...

Plenty of US travellers will easily make that up as the economy roars
    back to life...

As Bill Clinton once said, "It's the economy, stupid", and so far
President Trump is doing pretty well...

Ed, please "get a grip"... and please stop watching that LYING MSM cable nooze...

    As "dsi1" would say, "Sayonara...!!!"

I making a nice omelette for dinner with my CHEAPER eggs...

There are stories in the media about people visiting the US being put
in detention for days or even a few weeks, for unclear reasons,
without any charges ever being pressed. Also stories about hostile
customs people. The Dutch government's telling LGBT people to inform

Doesn't sound like a country you want to visit for a holiday.

Tourist income down $12B this year too.

There are stories in the media about people visiting the US being put
in detention for days or even a few weeks, for unclear reasons,
without any charges ever being pressed. Also stories about hostile
customs people. The Dutch government's telling LGBT people to inform

    which state.

Doesn't sound like a country you want to visit for a holiday.

Not that I've heard of. Mexico used to welcome us but I've heard

I had lunch today with my brother. He flew in from Indiana. He says that Waikiki was pretty much deserted, which was a strange thing to see. No
tourists from China, Japan, Canada, etc. My brother likes it that way.

Tomorrow, he flies to Oakland, then he's off to Asia. He likes to wake
up at 5AM and run around Leahi crater (Diamond Head) and then run around
Ala Moana Park. He says it's an 11 mile circuit. My brother is not like
    you or me.

For lunch we had an old time Hawaiian dish - beef cutlet. This was a
popular plate lunch item back in the 60's - 70's. These days, we don't
see it so much in menus. My uncle used to prepare beef cutlets for his
lunch wagon. I remember him in a little shack pounding sliced beef in
cracker crumbs on an aluminum pan. It made a crunching sound that I can
    still hear to this day.

30% to 150%? I didn't follow closely, but didn't Trump roll most of
that nonsense back after talking to the Chinese?

Trump increased tariffs on Chinese goods from about 5-8% to 20% in 2018. >Even at the "rolled-back" 30%, we're still paying more than we were.

The orange moron can't or won't understand what trade deficits mean.
Or, of course, he could be lying about it. Always a possibility.
However, "The Chinese are taking advantage of us because we buy more of >their stuff than they buy of our stuff" sounds just like his zero-sum >worldview.

Australia imports much more from the US than the US imports from
    Australia.

Trump thinks that's example of Australia taking
advantage of USA. It's so unfair that Americans have to
do all the work making stuff for people in Australia.

However, "The Chinese are taking advantage of us because we buy more of
their stuff than they buy of our stuff" sounds just like his zero-sum
    worldview.

Australia imports much more from the US than the US imports from
    Australia.

Trump thinks that's example of Australia taking
advantage of USA. It's so unfair that Americans have to
do all the work making stuff for people in Australia.

Trump and his minions thin that they have been paying to protect Canada
and that Canada is not doing its share. We do have a defense arrangement
with them. Under the terms of NORAD they operate radar bases in the far
north. Those aren't really there to protect Canada. They are an early
warning system for Russian aircraft coming across the Arctic to hit at
the US. They are protecting Canada. Their plan is to shoot down
incoming planes and missiles over Canada before they get to the US.

As for self defense, the US is the only country that has ever tried to
invade us, and they have done so several times. I suspect the main idea
behind military expenditures for NATO contribution is to buy expensive
    military hardware from the US.

I bought some Chinese pickups for a guitar. I could have spent over a
couple of hundred bucks for 2 pickups - maybe they were made in America,
maybe they were made somewhere else. The Chinese pickups were about 13
bucks each. The pickups were so cheap that I felt I was cheating the
Chinese. OTOH, my guess is that both parties were quite happy with the transaction. The reality is that Trump screwed the Chinese and the
    Americans.

I had to look that one up. :) It's no wonder I never knew he sold
steaks. I never watched (still don't) home shopping channels (QVC) or
bought anything from Sharper Image. His branded steak selling venture
barely lasted 3 months. The price was ridiculous, reviews of the steaks (provided by Buckhead Beef which was actually Sysco) were iffy, at best.

Trump has leveraged his branding and position as US President to make
lots and lots of money. I suppose a lot of leaders of countries have

American President can do while in office. He's been so successful at

No. Must be your imagination. They roll over and cave to any demand he
makes. There are almost none that put up the least bit of resistance.
And those who do, will soon be gone. He is currently consolidating his

At the moment, both houses of congress are non functional. The courts

    Fox NOOZE:

Bill Maher tells Americans to stop pretending they have 'core
    convictions' and 'deeply held beliefs'
Maher argued that Americans don't genuinely believe in anything and
'only care which side is saying something'

"Bill Maher urged Americans to stop aligning their beliefs with
political parties, using examples like electric vehicles and ivermectin
to illustrate his point on "Real Time" on Friday.

HBO host Bill Maher urged Americans to "get over the fantasy" that they
are people of "core convictions and deeply held beliefs" on an episode
    of "Real Time" Friday night.

Maher criticized Americans for flip-flopping on their beliefs, saying
they base their values on what's popular with their political party.

"They only care which side is saying something," he said, citing
electric vehicles (EVs) as an example.

"This car used to be 'fire.' Now it's on fire," Maher said while showing footage of Teslas being burned at a dealership.

"Back when Elon Musk was presumed liberal, liberals loved electric cars
and conservatives hated them," he continued. "Then Elon went MAGA, and
while the car market grew by 10% last month, sales of electric vehicles
were down 5%, and not just Teslas, all EVs."

"Conversely, MAGA Nation used to hate EVs two years ago," he added. "Seventy-one percent of Republicans said they would not consider buying
an electric car. Trump said they were for, quote, ‘radical left
fascists, Marxists and communists.’ Now he's selling them on the White
    House lawn."...

Maher criticized both conservatives and liberals for flip-flopping on
their opinions on electric vehicles over politics..."

1961 Ford Galaxie 6 Cylinder With Manual Transmission: El Cheapo Luxury

    https://www.curbsideclassic.com/blog/cc-for-sale/1961-ford-galaxie-6-cylinder-with-manual-transmission-el-cheapo-luxury/

"Here’s another classic example of a car that once was seen everywhere,
    but is now virtually extinct...

Oh, you might find a convertible or high-performance version of a ’61
Ford at a car show, but how about a Galaxie 4-door Town Sedan in
slightly patinated condition? Just the way you may remember seeing them
    on the street back then...

And who in 1961 would buy a top-of-the-line Galaxie new, but with so few options that the car basically becomes a stripper?

Quite a few people–more than you may think...

Based on research by CC’s own Aaron Severson, during this period
hundreds of thousands of low-priced, full-sized cars were produced each
year with six cylinder engines, manual transmissions, blackwall tires,
small hubcaps, and even no radio...

If you look at our collections of vintage photos of parking lots and
street scenes, you’re going to see a lot of cars like our featured
    Galaxie...

So why would someone buy a new Galaxie so basically equipped?

For one thing, it would keep the original purchase price low...

And maybe someone wanted the nicer Galaxie interior and trim but with
    six cylinder simplicity and economy...

Such a person may have preferred manual transmission but with the ease
of power steering, and wanted the small hubcaps which didn’t fly off
    like the big wheel covers...

There weren’t “option packages” like today–buyers could “custom build”
their new cars just the way they wanted them...

Senior citizens would buy cars like this back in the day. They were only
used around town to go to church and the grocery store. They never
ventured onto a highway and had plenty of room for friends or
    grandkids...

When this car was built, much of the interstate highway system was not
yet built so for many people highway travel was not yet an issue in
their area. That is where a car like this would do just fine...

    Andy Griffith show approves...!!!

    NATIONAL REVIEW:

Newly Released Biden-Hur Audio Captures Former President’s Stumbles from Special Counsel Interview

"Newly released audio from then-President Joe Biden’s lengthy interview
with Special Counsel Robert Hur captures Biden’s diminished mental
acuity in his failure to recall the year his son Beau passed away, the
year his vice presidency ended, the year President Donald Trump was
first elected, and why he possessed certain classified documents...

Biden’s long pauses and incoherent ramblings in response to light
questioning from Hur are apparent in over four minutes of audio first
reported by Axios on Friday night....

The partial release fulfills expectations that the Trump administration
would finally disclose the long-anticipated interview tape after Biden’s administration obstructed its disclosure at every turn...

Mistakenly, Biden said in the interview that his son Beau died in 2017
and had to be reminded that he passed away in 2015. Biden also said
Trump was first elected in 2017 and had to be corrected that Trump won
    the presidency in 2016...

Biden’s horrendous debate performance against Trump in June 2024 led to
a Democratic revolt that culminated in his decision to step aside from
the presidential race a month later...

Biden immediately endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris, who became
the Democratic nominee without a competitive primary challenge...

Numerous opinion polls showed Biden’s age was already a pressing concern
for the American people before the debate performance made it an issue
that Democrats and the mainstream media could no longer ignore...

Despite Biden’s unpopularity, Harris refused to distance herself from
him on the campaign trail and limited her exposure to the press...

Trump decisively won the 2024 presidential election against Harris and propelled the GOP to a 53-47 Senate majority, sending Democrats to the political wilderness..."

Our recent election saw a yet another Liberal minority and it had been a
very close race between them and the Conservatives. They ended up just
a couple seats short of a majority but they can't really call it a
strong mandate. There were a lot of recounts in ridings where the
results were incredibly close. In one of the recounts the Liberals won
    by just one vote.

Obammy picked Biden in large part because he wanted someone
comparatively mediocre, who wouldn't upstage him...

Biden picked Harris in large part for the same reason, and Harris picked
Walz (instead of Shapiro) for much the same reason...

So it was Mediocrity Squared and her running mate, Mediocrity Cubed,
running against Donald Trump and JD Vance...

It's hard to see how the results surprised anybody...

The "icing on the cake" was watching the legacy media's pundit panels on election night slowly sinking into disbelief that their Kamala Kool-Aid

And then the moment was "surpassed" by Kamala blowing off all her
supporters fervently gathered at Howard University. One can only imagine
what THAT speech would have sounded like...

    Published May 18, 2025

"Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form
of prostate cancer, a spokesman announced Sunday...

The diagnosis was revealed after doctors found a “small nodule” on Biden’s prostate that “necessitated further evaluation” during a
    physical exam earlier this month...

The 82-year-old’s longtime physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor deemed Biden “fit to serve” in February 2024 after the then-presumptive Democratic nominee underwent a routine examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center...

In July, after Biden dropped out of the presidential race, O’Connor told
The Post that the former president’s health was “excellent.”...

News of his diagnosis comes amid a firestorm of allegations that the
erstwhile Biden administration and members of his inner circle knowingly
hid his physical and cognitive decline from the American public...

Among the conversations allegedly had behind closed doors by those
closest to him were serious discussions of having Biden use a wheelchair
during his second term in office if he prevailed in the election,
according to a new book “Original Sin,” penned by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson..."

"Prices at the pump have indeed gone down, largely because the price of
crude oil has dropped by nearly 25% since the start of January. West
Texas Intermediate, the U.S. benchmark, dropped from a peak of around
$80 a barrel in mid-January to just under $60 today...

Lower oil prices mean lower prices at the pump. Gasoline prices usually

    NOW, to today's nooze:

This "announcement" of Diaper Joe's prostate cancer is nothing but a
    diversion from the Hur recording...

First, why was it presented on a Sunday afternoon...???

Medical diagnoses don't "pop-up" after Sunday morning church...

Second, the political universe was pounding this old fart and his family
hard and heavy for hiding his Alzheimers and keeping him hidden...

Now, a total 180, and everyone feels sorry for this clown and his "poor
son who has suffered so much death."...

    PUKE...!!!

Serious doubt is to be laid at this "breaking" story...

Either it is a complete lie designed to throw attention from Biden's
lack of cognition, and/or it is another cover-up revealed about a

My dad used to say that Mr. Ho had a house on a hill that had a harem. I thought that was pretty funny but it's probably true. Here's his
daughter Hoku. Hoku is the Hawaiian word for star.

Music for girlies who like to mime to it while they look at themselves

A Damning Portrait of Joe Biden’s Loyal Inner Circle

'Original Sin' details the astonishing lengths to which the former president’s team went to conceal his deteriorating condition.

    https://archive.ph/PZ7pA

"Axios reporter Alex Thompson and CNN anchor Jake Tapper in their new
book, 'Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again', paint a damning portrait of the Biden
    cover - up...

'Original Sin', hitting bookstores today, is a valuable play-by-play of
the lengths that the former president’s inner circle went to hide
Biden’s decline from the American people...

This included savaging the reputations of special counsel Robert Hur,
long-shot 2024 primary rival Dean Phillips, and anyone who questioned
    Biden’s competence along the way...

They describe the president’s inflated ego, telling readers that “he saw himself as a man of historic achievements, akin to FDR and LBJ.”...

The book is a very, very harsh critique of Jill Biden and the first
    couple’s top aides...

The book includes a behind-the-scenes look at Biden’s cognitive decline
that will not be surprising to the millions of Americans who had doubts
    about his fitness early on...

By early 2023, the authors write, “the president was having
behind-the-scenes moments where he seemed completely out of it, spent, exhausted, almost gone.”...

By 2024, cabinet secretaries became convinced they couldn’t count on him
to “perform at 2:00 a.m. during an emergency.”...

The book does not explore in much detail Kamala Harris’s role in the cover-up...

If anything, it reveals how little Biden’s inner circle trusted or
respected the former vice president — and how much she was insulated
from the Oval Office as a result...

According to Tapper and Thompson, she was seen by members of Biden’s
inner circle as lazy and rude..."
