• An Amusing Cooking Anecdote (for those with cats)

From Jill McQuown@21:1/5 to All on Fri May 16 12:02:37 2025
Last night I cooked half a strip steak. Pan seared in a screaming hot
cast iron skillet. The steak was seasoned well with salt and then
pepper and garlic powder. Browned well, turned, I added some butter to
the pan. Then a splash of Worcestershire sauce.

My cat Cleo is about 9 months old now. Still a kitten. I never let her
in the kitchen. I'm too worried about her expecting to play and
generally getting underfoot while I'm cooking. It's not a safe
environment. So I keep the kitchen door closed.

    The steak turned out perfectly:

I heard loud meowing outside the kitchen door. I looked over and saw a
little white paw poking underneath the kitchen door. Hey! Let me in
there! Nope. This is my dinner and you do not belong in the kitchen.

She smelled that delicious steak and wanted you to
    hand it over.
