Put in a new SSD with Win 10, and had lost my login info from Blocknews,
so I bought some elsewhere. This is mostly a test post.

That's odd, I'm still using Win 7 and Blocknews without issue.
Good luck with Windows 10, I gave it 5 minutes of my time, and decided that >once W7 is beyond depreciated, so is Microsoft. I'll have to learn

But all those operating systems work. They may need a tweak here or
there for a particular user, but they can all be customised to how you
want them. The days that your entire computer would freeze if you look
at it the wrong way, are over.
Of course, don't buy a 20 year old computer and then install the
newest operating system on it.

The truth is that I could go at any moment!
Cheer up, and gets Yooseself a Ford Falcon...!!!
Curbside Classic: 1961 Falcon – How To Build A Winning Compact
https://www.curbsideclassic.com/curbside-classics-american/curbside-classic-1961-falcon-how-to-build-a-winning-compact-2/#comments
"Didn’t Ford get it right in 1960? It certainly won the compact war that launched that year... The story of the Falcon is that rare triumph of rationality in Detroit...
The Falcon was conceived under the reign of Robert McNamara, that
paragon of the rational and pragmatic manager. He oversaw every unloving detail, and the end result speaks for itself: a very compact car that
weighed a mere 2400 lbs yet could sit six (slim) adults in an interior
not all that much smaller than a big Ford. Its 20-25 mpg was a huge improvement over the big cars too. No frills anywhere, and a sub $2000
price to go right up against the imports. Take that, Volkswagen!
Some have thrown aspersions at the Falcon, that it was designed to be a “disposable” car. How do you explain this 65 year - old daily driver?
Old Falcons are easy enough to keep running forever...
Seems like the 1st gen Falcon was the first ‘forever’ car, at least for
a domestic...
A regularly maintained Falcon could still work as basic, routine Point-A
to Point-B transportation, with the most minimal of fuss, even in
today’s world. It’s not likely the same could be said for just about any other 65 year old car..."

As long as Keith Richards is still alive, our chances are good. When
he'll die, the question will be who's next.

My guess is that Keith R. is a vampire and will, therefore, live

people are more likely to die from some age related issue. Many of us
meet our doom much earlier. I lost two very good friends when I was 15,
one in a motorcycle accident and the other in a car accident. A friend's husband died at the age of 26 from a aortic embolism. I had an aunt who
who died of a cerebral embolism in her mid 40s and we lost a niece 5
years ago to a heart attack. That one caught us all off guard because
she had been so fit and had so much going for herself. She had been out walking with her husband and they 13 year old son, went upstairs for to
go to the bathroom and dropped dead.
The fact is that there are a lot of old people around these days that
will last longer than some who have not yet been born.

That's odd, I'm still using Win 7 and Blocknews without issue. Good
luck with Windows 10, I gave it 5 minutes of my time, and decided that
once W7 is beyond depreciated, so is Microsoft. I'll have to learn
Linux then, I guess.

Mother Superior may not have any cooking to share, but she could still provide the newsgroup with guidance. Who's a troll and who's not? Who

Yes, you emailed me, Michael, thanks. I was not admitted to the
hospital. I went to the ER and spent about 5 hours there getting IV antibiotics and a CT scan to confirm gut inflammation due to diverticulitis. I took the week off from work, taking oral antibiotics
and resting. Nothing interesting to report about food or cooking.
I just had a phone call from my SiL who sends regrets for being unable
to attend my wife's birthday bash. It's a big one.... 80. We had
reserved enough room for her family at a very nice brunch buffet at a
nice Toronto restaurant. SiL suffers from ulcerative colitis and it
is really acting up. She is also suffering from light headedness.
My wife is bummed that her big sister won't be able to make it and was tempted to cancel. Others are coming a long way for it, including a
nephew and his wife who are leaving in a few weeks for a 3 year
deployment to Singapore. The down side is the big niece will be
there. At least it is a buffet for at least one of use will be getting
our money's worth.

She is about 3 1/2 hours north of us but being 9 years older than my

There's a "law" firm near me. Run by an old guy and his two children. A
boy and a girl. For many many years, these kids weighed about 400 lbs.
HUGE.
Suddenly, they shrank to nothing. Almost overnight they became super
skinny, almost ghastly looking.

Breakfast: White bread and tea
Lunch: Crackers and water
Dinner: Two slices of American cheese and grape juice mixed 50/50 with >water.
I went to the ER on 7/6 and spent about 5 hours there getting IV
antibiotics and a CT scan to confirm gut inflammation due to diverticulitis. I took the week off from work, taking oral antibiotics
and resting. Nothing interesting to report about food or cooking. I'm tired but recuperating nicely. I went back to work on Monday, 7/14.
Still on soft bland food so nothing of interest to report in terms of cooking. Thanks for your concern, Leo!

There service was at a nice lake side venue and spent the night before
and the night of the wedding in one of the three adjoining units of a
lodge. There was a gap between the service and the reception for photos.
I guess she couldn't wait to fill her face and found a can of soda
water. I don't remember her asking if she could help herself to a can of
soda from our fridge but it turned out she had not taken it from our
unit. She had gone into the bride's parents kitchen and helped herself.
She then parked herself next to the table that had been used to sign the registry and when the kid who works for the club came to remove the
chairs and the table she insisted he had to leave it there for her to
put her drink down.
She had a great time at the reception. She installed herself by the top
of the stairs so that every time a server came up with a new tray of
hors d'oveuvres she would take several. At one point I was talking to a friend and out of the corner of my eye I see an arm reach across the
table into someone's glass and she took the cherries that garnished his Manhattan. I don't remember if it was before or after dinner while we
were seated she went over to the bar with a glass. There was a small
bowl of olives and she dumped most of them into her empty glass. It was
kind of funny because the bartender saw it and gave her a really dirty
look and then went over and took the bowl away.
When I mentioned these things to my wife she said I should not spend
all my time watching for here to mess up. I was not watching. These
were all things that just sort of happened and I caught them by mistake.
Who knows what else she pulled off.
I have to have a talk with our server(s) at this lunch. It is a buffet
but past experience is that she will abuse them having them run back and forth to cater to her whims. It happened once at another lunch buffet at
one of FiL's clubs. He had the poor guy running back in forth. He had
brought coffee but she wanted tea. There was cream on the table but she wanted milk. He brought a picture of milk and then she wanted a glass of milk. He brought the milk and then she wanted a glass of juice. He came with the juice and then she wanted a glass of ginger ale. I never saw
him again. He had the good sense to get away, but then we were stuck
without a server.
Thanks. It is a multi day celebration for her. My brother's wife took
her out for lunch yesterday and her walking group is taking her for
lunch tomorrow. Then the family thing in Toronto on Saturday.
I will try not to babysit the niece but I am certain things will happen
that I cannot miss.

Could be worth the drive to Canada just to watch her in action. Incredible.

Her Royal Majesty of course. You don't recognize her because that is an
old picture.
Her Highness is much older now.
