• Sugar Overdose, Sunday Breakfast, 7/12/2025

Nothing important to anyone, but I thought I'd share
    experience today.

I decided on frozen waffles, sausage patties, and maple
syrup for breakfast today. I needed to get those waffles
out of the freezer to make some space, plus they're not
really that good and they needed to go. But I proceeded
    with my plan.

I put a gob of butter in a microwave safe bowl and poured
the maple syrup over it and heated it until a bit bubbly
to melt the butter. This saves time of buttering the
waffles as they quickly cool down plus my maple syrup
resides in the refrigerator and cold syrup would really
cool down those waffles. But I over estimated my syrup,
thinking that extra splash won't matter. Good grief,
I feel like I just ate a 5-pound bag of granulated
sugar!! I don't think I'll be hungry until way, way
    later today.

We were running a little late. My wife had gone to church and then had
to scoot down to a mall in the adjacent city to pick up a new dress.
Our brunch was basically old stuff that needed to be used up. First of
all, there were three frozen ready to cook croissants from Costco. I
took them out to thaw and then preheated the air frier.

My wife got home just as they were going into the oven. She cooked some scrambled eggs, the remaining slice of peameal bacon and some side
bacon, both leftover from last week. There was a little bit of
strawberry jam, a little pear and ginger jam so they got used up on the croissants.

I usually bake the croissants in the oven at 350 for 23 minutes. In the
air fryer they were done after less than 15. I will definitely get
those ready to bake croissants again. You just need to get them out 20
minutes early, preheat the oven and throw them in.
