• Quiet afternoon ruined

From Ed P@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jul 19 17:12:09 2025
Under present circumstances, not easy to get around or to go out. I
thought I'd have a quiet afternoon, just relax, listen to some music, etc.

Well, that was ruined. I'm sitting in my recliner and I hear to door
open. It is the neighbors and they are bearing margaritas. Out of a
sense of obligation, I accepted one and sipped on it, just to be
neighborly. I did not want to offend them.

Would it have been rude to turn them away? The margarita may have gone
to waste and people in other parts of the world are starving so that
would be wrong to waste it.

I'm glad you bucked up, met the situation head-on, and did
the polite and neighborly thing. And yes, that's the way
it should be viewed, people are starving all over the world,
    do not waste sustenance.

Indeed. Actually, he should have invited his cleaning lady over to
share margaritas after those pesky visitors left ... that cleaning woman
    that has such nice legs.

A little booze can go a long way at intimate meetings.

But what about your medication? Read the small print,
where it says "DO NOT consume alcohol with this medication
or your other leg will drop off"

You may be correct, but I made little effort to find out. The couple I
did look at had no mention and the alcohol is hours away from the
    medication taking time.

I am getting a bit better. Another few weeks with the walker before I
see the doctor and an X-ray of the fracture.

Bought a new car today, will pick it up tomorrow. Reading the manual
though, I'm disappointed and it will not be comfortable on long trips. According to the manual, you should not put your feet on the dashboard.
How else can you be comfy on a long drive?

    Electric?

    Hybrid. 2025 Hyundai Sonata Limited.
At start and moderate speeds it is electric but the engine will kick in
as needed for faster acceleration or charge the battery. The 13 gallon
tank has a range of 595 miles.

Just looking at the dashboard, I'll spend a couple of day doing all the settings.
