Before moving to Clayton in 2021, Tony's had been a downtown fixture, in various iterations, since 1946.
CLAYTON, Mo. — Tony's, the fine-dining restaurant that moved from downtown
St. Louis to Clayton in 2021, will shutter its doors permanently on Feb.
15.
"It is with a mixture of gratitude and a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Tony’s Restaurant on February 15, 2025. For more than seven
decades, we have had the privilege of serving the St. Louis community, and
we want to thank each of you for being part of our story," the restaurant
said Friday in a news release, which appeared in the form of a letter
addressed to "valued friends, guests, and the St. Louis community."
A rumored closing had circulated on social media of late, stoked by an anonymous poster who claimed that the restaurant would close on New Year's
Eve, which proved not to be the case.
Tony's had been a downtown fixture, in various iterations, since 1946.
