When chances are available to skip out on em passant, I think they
should be taken sooner rather than later. For about 7 different
reasons, not the least of which is that the possibility is staring them
in the eyes as time passes. If my opponent does not em passant I have
it set up so that it's better. I do however keep some kind of backup to
nail that e.p. pawn after it takes my pawn in case the guy chooses em
passant. Otherwise that's an advanced pawn.

In case you are getting ready to blast me for promoting em passant, read closer, this is anti-e.p.

    I certify it.

It also gets them to pop off their em passant prematurely which can be
    harmful to their offense.

But who am I fooling. I am all in favor of em passant. Sometimes guys
ask me to "ignore" the rule. Then they go on to beat me. I'm playing
in a fish aquarium while they are dancing around the room, because em
passant is fuel for my fire. I use it to success and opponents cringe
when I do. Learn the fulling rules.

I suppose I'll have to be the one to point out that it's 'en
    passant' not "em passant".

Sorry for the Sunday morning pedantry.

    Carry on...

Yes I remember now, it loosely translates to 'in passing.'
