• e4 openings for d4 players

    Hi

Of late I seem to have morphed into a positional player. I exclusively open with d4, sometimes c4, rarely f4. I avoid e4 like the plague. I prefer to maneoeuvre and pounce when the time is right usually. Obviously it doesn't always go according to plan
but I seem to have a better time of it in closed/Indian games. Are there any openings you would recommend for a less bloodthirsty players such as I am these days?

I am thinking some lines of the Spanish, though there's a lot of theory to learn here. Maybe Four Knights or Giuoco Pianissimo?

    Bs"d

The Spanish and the Italian are very open games and can become very tactical. The four horses game is good when you want to draw.

    Just stick to d4.
