Since Fairy Chess is usually for chess problems, and not for actual over-the-board play, and since even four-dimensional chess has
been included in Fairy Chess, the fact that hexagonal three-dimensional
chess is no doubt also too complicated shouldn't have prevented it
from being invented.
Well, I haven't encountered any mention of it, so I looked into its possibilities a little.
