Stars! 2.6j RC4 is slightly more up-to-date and has a few bug/exploit fixes:

http://wiki.starsautohost.org/files/stars26jrc4.zip

It is fully compatible with 2.7j RC3 but doesn't have the sound capability. 2.6j RC4 is what is used for public games on Stars! Autohost due to some exploits being fixed.
