My father in law recently gave my husband a sword that he had found in his aunt's house when she passed away. This aunt was the family collector and had many family keepsakes, so we think this sword was an ancestor's possession, not purchased as acollectible. The family mainly comes from Germany. It appears to be a German Imperial hunting sword - it is on the smaller side and the scabbard has an additional hilt for a knife. There is a coat of arms engraved on the blade and hilt of the sword
