• why am i still here

hear me out, i wonder why i'm still here??
Thinking of all the nutty things i've
done yet still managed to escaped deaths
grasp.... motorcycles are not noted as
the safest mode of transportation, yet
they have taken me to places i would have
never traveled had it not been for them..
some of the more interesting places
have rode Utah, Arizona, Mexico, Bahamas,
    Texas, Everglades, Hatti, Spain, Ireland
Arkansas, Alaska. Upstate NY & Montana...
i wonder what the next decade brings as
i become less nimble and heal slower.

what's on your bucket list of places to ride?

    You and me both buddy.

what's on your bucket list of places to ride?

Square Deal riders - they have a cushion short track
Wyoming Backcountry Discover Route - and all the BDRs for that matter.
Catalina GP if they ever do it again
TAT from where we stopped in Arkansas last time to the Pacific
    Buffalo Chip super TT
I'm going to resurrect the backyard minibike short track this year and ride there a lot

    Go fast. Take chances.

Can't do that any more, but pre-Cranston Kennedy Meadows was the
absolute best place we ever rode. The southern Los Padres, was next.
For road-riding, which we didn't do a lot of, Capitol Reef to Mexican
Hat and back was the best ever, even if I had to beg a gallon of gas
    because of poor timing.

If I got to do it again, I'd spend months riding in Utah.

i forgot about mark twain forest where "two toes
gone" loaned me a sweet gasgas... that was a fun.

    catalina would be great,
    La Panza looks interesting
Sherman Pass might be on the ticket too.

this summer i plan to ride the tail dragon
thing, or Hartleton to Cedar Run, no off
road trips planned for this year....

If in Washington, I know nothing. If California near Kennedy Meadows,
the Nine-Mile-Canyon part (the east end going down to 395) is bare and
kind of interesting. When dragging the MC trailer and 3 bikes behind
the 68 Dodge van and going back down the tires started to slip (it was
dirt then -- maybe paved now). We unloaded two of the bikes and rode
the rest of the way down -- hubby got to drive. The rest of the road
    is an ordinary mountain road.

The van hated dirt roads. One year we tried to do all of Highway 1, one
part of which was a steep dirt road on a hill. I was driving. When it
started slipping I made the family get out and opened the door so I
could jump if I had to. I didn't have to.

Mono Lake (up 395) is interesting. Take the little roads that go close
to the lake and walk the rest of the way. You'll be glad you did.

this summer i plan to ride the tail dragon
thing, or Hartleton to Cedar Run, no off

If it weren't for pain, we wouldn't have any fun at all.

i'm used to split brakes like on a tractor or airplane where you have
right and left brake pedals, more suitable for knarley roads i wonder
why more off road vehicles don't have that option..driving an old
school van with unbalanced brakes is down right scary.

Hmm, I might be interested. Just bought a V-strom 1000 in primo shape with 26,000 miles on it.
First real streetbike I've had in years.
