    Since many of you are Facebook users, I thought I'd mention this: https://www.businessinsider.com/stolen-data-of-533-million-facebook-users-leaked-online-2021-4

    The breach is from no later than August 2019 (when they fixed that vulnerability). "The data includes phone numbers, full names,
    location, email address, and biographical information."

    And remember, be careful out there.

    OTOH, I didn't even use my full name online until I started claiming
    copyright on my filks.

    But people should have the choice of how much or little of themselves
    they expose online. And if one is greeted by information thought
    private (or at least controlled), that one might think the greeter
    either someone known personally, or someone official.

    It reminds me of a time, long ago, when someone came up to someone I
    was with and greeted her by name. She was taken aback because she
    didn't recognize that person, but felt she should because the
    stranger obviously knew her. My companion was wearing her name badge
    from a convention we were taking a break from. And the stranger was
    trying to get some money from her.

    If a service doesn't have a legitimate need for a datum, I feel no
    compunction about feeding them false information...

    I fed Facebook (And nearly all internet sites) false info.. Makes it harder to ID thief me.
