8 The Pilgrim Travelers - I'll Be Home For Christmas - Specialty 837
7 Bill Haley & The Saddlemen - Dance With A Dolly - Essex 305
SPONTANEOUS LUNACY VERDICT: 3/10
It just scrapes a 6 for me but the number was done much better eight
years later in my favorite vesion when The Olympics revived it in
November 1960 as "Dance By The Light Of The Moon"
Interesting to note that on the Olympics US Arvee release songwriting
credit went to the record's producers Fred Smith and Cliff Goldsmith.
However after some threatened litigation the original redits were
restored on the UK Vogue release in March 1961 (with the title
vrestored to "Dance With A Dolly (With Her Hole In Her Stocking)" and
the writing credits restored to "Shand-Eaton-Leader" as per the Haley
and other previous earlier versions
