What has this got to do with music 1946-1962?

In addition to dancing he also sang. Made his debut at the Apollo in
    1952, appeared on Broadway in 1954. And it's 1946-196*3*.

It should not be 1963, because that includes the Beatles
and 1960's new fangled Beat music.

But NOT in the USA in 1963---and for that reason December 1963 seemed to many of us the ideal "cutting off" point for the 1950's since almost immediately in the following year the music scene changed completely as the Beatles exploded onto the US charts
and things were never the same again

Roger, I should not have referenced the Beatles in this debate.

Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1963 clearly indicate that the
USA had moved beyond Cusp rock and roll. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1963

I don't see any rock and roll on there that's not cusp rock and roll. All that stuff gets played in movies like "American Graffiti."

There's always been non rock and roll in the top 100 for any year in the mid to late 50s. If you showed us the top 100 for 1963 in the UK, that's a different fucking story.
