Had trouble ranking these. All excellent songs. Not quite any of the 24 possible orders, but each
one could have been 2nd or 3rd, and a several 1st and a couple 4th.

It's been fun ride, but I won't be able to do any more for at least the next couple of months.

FINAL RANKINGS - same as Roger.

    1. Choo Choo Ch'Boogie - Louis Jordan - 26
    2. Roll 'Em Pete - Joe Turner & Pete Johnson - 20
    3. Down The Road Apiece - Amos Milburn - 17 (2 first place)
    4. Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens - Louis Jordan - 17 (0 first place)

My Choo Choo wins the tournament. It won the first one of these that we did back in February 22. Carl's Joe & Pete took second place, which is what it took in the second one of these in May 22. And in doing so it avenged its loss to My Milburn, which won
that May 22 tournament. My Millburn won a tie breaker over my Chickens to take third place. They each were ranked first on 4 of the 8 ballots, so it then went to most first place votes to decide it.

I never won any of the year end tournaments, so this was very nice, having 3 in the FINAL FOUR and winning it with what should now be considered as the Greatest Record of the era preceding the one that we cover here in the group. So it's the "Johnny B.
Goode" of the pre-1947 era here.

No problem, no other contests are planned at this time.

Like most here probably I had CCCB penned as the winner here from day one but well done on its success

And yep I'm with you on it being THE standout record of the pre-'47 period

Jim Colgrove, a cool musician and middle-America guy, thinks otherwise
    - so does Mark D and DianeE.

But thanks for your opinion, Roger (and Bruce).

Cab Calloway and his Cotton Club Orchestra - Zaz Zuh Zaz - 1934
Cliff Bruner & His Texas Wanderers - Bring It On Home To Grandma -
    1938
Eddie Durham and His Band - Magic Carpet - 1940
Lil Green - Why Don't You Do Right - 1941
    Ted Daffan's Texans - Born To Lose - 1942
Spade Cooley - Shame On You - 1944
    Ink Spots w. Ella Fitzgerald - Cow-Cow Boogie - 1944
Freddie Slack AHO f. Ella Mae Morse - House Of Blue Lights - 1946

Hey, I don't agree with all about "Johnny B. Goode," but that's been shown to be the favorite 50s song here in the group.
