A Goldband track recorded in 1954. Did it come out back then?

    -----------
Blues Discography says it did, Folk Star 104.

    Nice find!

BTW this is the same artist who recorded as Blue Charlie in 1957, "I'm
    Gonna Kill That Hen."

    Whoa!! Hold back the horses!

THAT "Folk Star 104" refers to a 1987 UK compilation LP from Charly
Records titled after and containing the Left Hand Charlie track

I can't trace an original 1950's US release of the number as a single.
    Maybe someone else has more?

There was a REAL "Folk Star" label in the 50's tho---subsidary of Eddie Shuler's Goldband label in Lake Charles. And there was a real Folk Star
104 on that label too---but it's a gospel thing by Sanders Stanford
release date not known (but very early 50's at a guess)

BTW this is the same artist who recorded as Blue Charlie in 1957, "I'm
    Gonna Kill That Hen."

Right! And wasn't that record one of Norm K's pet "likes" he never tired
    of reminding us of? :)

Ah, so this explains why the Blues Discography lists *3* tracks as "Folk
Star 104." (I was thinking okay, must be 2 different B sides?) Wish
they'd included release dates, although the book itself--just REVISING
it--was clearly a labor of Hercules.
