13. WHAT’S A MATTER BABY (IS IT HURTING YOU) – TIMI YURO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBOu9FKlZBk-----------
Here’s one that I’m guessing Diane will really like---and I too was always partial to Timi’s records ever since “Hurt” came out. And that included her best record of 1962 that I recall buying the day of UK
release (I was in my first job by now). On Liberty in both US and UK
Timi reached #12 BBpop and #16BBr&b. Despite good airplay did not chart
UK

To me it's her best record *ever*. Not a Timi fan but this record has
it all--great beat, powerful vocals, well-placed chuckle, and unique lyrics. >I say unique because there aren't very many records by female artists
that send a message like this one: you broke my heart and now you want
me back, well fuck you, Jack!

The production is overly elaborate to the point where it detracts
from the music's emotional impact, it overshadows the raw soulfulness
of her voice. There are too many layers, an overabundance of
instruments creating a dense or cluttered sound. Of course, this is
highly subjective, others, like you DianeE, might find such production choices integral to the song's charm.

So did she ever marry Lou Christie? I remember him on TV here one time
(as "Lightnin' Strikes" was in the charts) telling the guy interviewing
him that as soon as he got back to Uncle Samland he was going to marry
his fiancee Timi Yuro

Lou Christie is a left footer, A pillow biter.
Like many gay men, he was married and had kids.
From 1971 – 1973, he lived in London. There he met Francesca Winfield, a former Miss United Kingdom, and married her. Lou Christie had created
and lived his own dream.
Tho oft reputed to be gay Christie gained a lot of media attention on
these shores in the mid 60's when he apparently proposed marriage to
the singer Timi Yuro during a rendezvous at the Savoy Hotel in London.
