• What happened in 1990?

Keep seeing on Taxi requests for "vintage" material which must have been recorded before 1990.

They emphasise that they do ***NOT*** want material recently recorded and made to sound "vintage".

Must have been some piece of legislation, whatever it is they want to get around.

It's only 'vintage' if it was written at least 15 years before 1990!

They emphasise that they do ***NOT*** want material recently recorded and made to sound "vintage".

If it's previously Unknown, Original material, what difference does it make when it was recorded?
How can they tell IF nobody tells them first?

As for being 'made' to sound 'vintage', that implies a LOT of Creative, Innovative Talent...particularly from Zombies who wouldn't appreciate it in
    the first place ;)

Gee, I sure wish there was more of that - namely writing songs and 'making' them to sound 'vintage', yet Totally Original!
That way, we'd have a lot less Meaningless, Mindless CRAP on the radio!!!

As for my Original material, it sounds like it's from the late '60s to early '70s, - that is, it has Substance and Meaning in both the Music and lyrics, which even rhyme and have profound messages, but that's because THAT is the kind of Music I truly Love!

Or to put it another way, why shouldn't I write the kind of Music that motivated me to become a musician/singer/songwriter in the first place...particularly since Brand New Music of that type is Desperately
Needed today more than ever before IF rock & roll is to survive?

Must have been some piece of legislation, whatever it is they want to get around.

I wonder what kind of legislation that could possibly be.

No, they got it up their butt that only old recordings will sound like old recordings ( the fidelity wasn't as good, so you'd have to
record probably on a tape recorder to get that old sound ).
