Even our resident loons have abandoned the Biden Titanic. I haven’t seen
any nonsensical posts from any of them in weeks. In a way it’s good to have
just the adults here.

I wish they'd come back and push back. My brain is going to atrophy
without some resistance, and I could end up being a Democrat at the end
of the day going forward. Right now, you, sticks, and I are just 3 guys
in a triangular echo chamber.

I'm fine with never talking with a liberal again. They suck the intelligence right outta ya.

One thing you can count on from democrats - when the going gets tough,
they get going... home.

I guess you are right... and correct. Although, always winning gets
boring sometimes. I do miss the tete-a-tetes with pompous ass liberals
like Senor Smoke (AKA Pompous Ass TB, Captain Cut and Paste, etc), dIm
and Mensa. They are humorless liberals but they sure provide a lot of
comic relief. Apparently, they all took the road traveled by The Twins
some years ago.

When I added this group to my list, I was unaware of the history of the group. I thought it would be about RVs. I did a bit of research and
found it has always been this way here regarding political talk. I call
it talk, because you can't really call what goes on as discussion. It's more like banter, if you're being generous. Insulting political dogma
if your being honest. It doesn't take much of that and I end up just blocking all the idiots. I find the positions of today's Marxist
democrats too dumb to be able to have any useful discussion. Too many
lies, too much insanity, and just plain dumb.
Other than discussing RV things, I'm suggest discussing actual policy if
you want to have a place for reasonable debate. The conservatives have differing opinions on things and can actually learn from each other.
I'll start with an example.
I can't go for the transgender thing like the left wants where it is all
in our kids faces. I want them protected from what I think is a mental health issue. That said, at least in the US, an adult should be able to
do what they want as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. So what kinds
of limits or rules need to be enacted to allow their freedom, while
still protecting our children and our society?
Speaking of, have you taken your maiden voyage yet?

Haven't had time with helping Mom get new windows which I had to make
sure got put in right and then I had to do the trim work. The blinds

Yesterday and today I'm working on getting my parking spot dug out for
the RV. Hopefully, I'll finish the digging and grading tomorrow and
get a load of stone on Saturday. Looking forward to spending some
time figuring out how everything works on it.

Had a perfect grassy area alongside the garage where it is landing.
Probably just get the stone in this year, let it settle for a winter,
and decide how I want to pave it next year. I have done several
paving brick things on the property, but I'm a little hesitant using
them with the weight involved. Leaning towards concrete.

OK, how about abortion.
Personally, I think it is in just the right
spot now. Leave it to each state to do what their voters want.
However, I am not really ok with any of this late term stuff. I mean
for fucks sake, it is a living baby and it's a gruesome thing done to them. I gotta think about it some more.
One thing I'm sure of is who pays for it. Here is shit hole Illinois,
they want to pay for all abortions. For me, if you want an abortion,
you pay for it.
Got the first small trip in and learned a lot of useful things. Only
spent 3 days away, so not any extended usage information. It is easy to drive and get around, and makes it easy to go off and explore if we want.
I will certainly look at getting the additional 30 gallon tank for fresh water. The black and gray tanks never even showed coming up off empty
on the gauge, so they never got above 1/3 full. Got down to showing 1/3
on the 30 gallon fresh water tank, but it was probably somewhere there
and 1/2. With 60 gallons, I can see easily going a week without
anything and being able to stay anywhere.
The mileage was good, with it getting 17.8 MPG on the way up on smaller roads, and 17.7 on the interstate at 70 MPH.
Had to run off a 20 amp 120 Volt plug the first night because the 30 amp
was broken, and it ran everything just fine, even with the AC on. Did
feel better once I was able to plug into the 30 amp the next day though.
But watching the power watchdog for how much it was drawing, I actually
think the solar will keep up pretty well with the fridge on and
occasional pump and minimal light usage. Might have to start the engine
or generator occasionally, but I don't see it as a big issue unless it
gets hot.
Finding a couple little things like a closet light that wouldn't hit the
push button to turn off, cross threaded outside water shower I'll have
to fix, but for the most part it all worked as expected.
Did have several campers stop by to inquire about the jack system it
has. Seems like many had not seen one like it on the Class C rigs.
Anyway, it was a good first outing.

to the 17+ mpg, I would give an arm and a leg for that. I'm at 7.5 on a

Yeah, my brother is down like that with about the same sizes as you. It
will be interesting to see how far down the MPG goes when pulling the
TOAD. I'm hoping it at least stays over 12 MPG. I think it will just
chug along nicely on the flats or even small hills. It's getting in the mountains I wonder if it will be able.

Did I miss a description somewhere of what you have for a new rig?

Agree that would be lovely mpg. I generally get ~12 towing a
Lance 1475 with my Acadia at ~60 mph. It drops pretty quickly if
I go faster (plus the towing get a little less steady).
I almost got a 35' Renegade that had a 8.9 Litre Cummins in it. I think
it was like 450 horse power. That thing would have drank the diesel,
which is probably why it had a 100 gallon fuel tank.

Heh, also so you can off grid longer. Had an 8000 Watt Diesel Onan.
I really didn't care about the fuel, and actually thought it would be
great having a monster like that. 20,000 lb hitch. 150 gallon
freshwater tank. The thing was a beast and could pull anything I have
or might get. Only problem was I couldn't keep it at my home because of
the hilly property I have. Still, I almost did it.
In the end, I'm good with the View. It's parked right outside the
garage where I want it.

It's good to be able to keep an eye on it and not depend on storage lot security. I keep mine on my property... and it's within 9mm distance if someone sketchy approaches.
