• Checking out northwest Australia

[A kitty-sized motorhome rolls along a well-tended road through heavy
tree cover. When they emerge from the trees, they pass green farms and
fields. They pull up in front of a business with a sign reading "Big
    Barramundi Garden" and park.]

Milton: Well, Fuzzybutt, what do you think? This area is beautiful,
    isn't it?

Callie: Yes, it is, but I was 'pecting desert an rocks and dry and hot.
Isn't that what Australia is like?

Milton: You're probably thinking about the Outback. We're a long way
    from there.

[The 2 kitties leave the RV and stop on the sidewalk, looking around and admiring the green.]

[An orange tabby cat wearing a jaunty bush hat is sitting under a nearby
    tree.

Hey, that's a right smaht caravan there, mate! Looks just the size fer a
couple of adventurous pusses such as yerselves. Can I offer you's any
help wit' whatever you're about? The name's Hamish, by the way. I live hearabouts.

Milton: Hamish, I'm Milton and this is Callie. We're visiting from the Community - RPCC. We were told that this area would be a good choice for
our annual Jellicle Ball, and I have to say from what I've seen that
this might be the best site we've seen in years.

Hamish: Aye, I heard that you lot might be comin' through here. Welcome!
This is probably the most beautiful place in all of Oz! We've got the
Daintree Falls, and Cassoway Falls, and if you follow the river you can
get into some pretty serious wilderness. And in Daintree proper us
pusses outnumber the humans by a fair bit. I've got a couple of good
mates what live in the indigenous villages, and they can point you
towards some pretty awesome sites, I would think. They have some very
sacred sites that they generally don't share, but for groups that have
the kind of respect and reverence that I've heard you lot share, they
    might well make an exception.

Meantime Luko, Jack, Rosalee and babies arrive just outside Daintree
Forrest reserve, Australia to meet with Buffy, Fur Face and Klyd. Ma
Squeak (A Quokka) comes up deligted to meet Rosalee and her babies. Ma
Seak has a little joey in her pouch which peeks out at Annalee's babies
    who peek back.

To the side a quiet 2foot finishes setting up a table with all sorts of
foods from leaves, seeds, fruits, grubs, worms, nuts and frogs plus
mousicles and kibbles. Several brands of gooshy foods. There's lots
of empty room so more must be expected.

Is Daintree. The cataporter is sending a signal. The 2 foot listens
to Buffy then goes in and they hear some soft phone calls.

Meantime Gentle Jack catches a new scent and sees a tiny mouse fly
between some branches. It looks like a mini flying squirrel. It stops
and peeks through the leaves at them. The 2foot cuts some small
berries into tiny bits and sets the tray in the top of a 6ft tree, tied
down so it won't fall or lose it's little load.

Ma squeak smiles and tells the tale on how the gods took favor on the
little flying mice and gifted them with the ability to fly (actually
glide and bounce) fast enough to escape preditors.

Then Luko and Gentle Jack traded tales on some of what they knew of
    animals where they came from.

Brown bears, black bears, grizzlies to the north and west of them then
way up north, all white polar bears.

The catavan pulls up to Daintree Forest Reserve, and Milton, Callie and
    Hamish disembark.

Callie gets terribly excited, and runs around frantically with her
fluffy tail standing straight up, fascinated by all the sights and all
the new creatures to meet and make friends with.

Milton unpacks the cargo area, and sets out treats that the locals might
not have encountered before. Roasted ear of sooven, roast beast. They
might be familiar treats, but he wants to make sure veryone gets a
    chance to experience them.

Callie suddenly freezes as a Cassawary stepers out with 3 distinct
russels in the bush near him. ''ello little lady! says the Cassawary!
I'z headed to Buffy, Fur Face and Kyde's place! I heared dere was
another group. Dez about 2km dat way (points with his nose). Dis is a
fine camp so mebby dey move here? It's near night so mebby tomorra'?

Meantime, 3 little furry (and much shorter than Dad's loft 7ft) step
out. Milton meets Pretty Girl, a 2ft tall baby cassawary. Hamish
meets Jumper, a slightly taller male baby cassawary. The other bit of
bush russles for a moment then runs out a 3rd cassawary named Runner.
He's midway sized of Pretty Girl and Jumper.

"I'z Pip Squeek, named cause I was the smallest of the boys" he says
with a happy grin. Then he reaches down and tries a peach.

someone looking for us. Would like some fruit? We've got a bunch of

Thank you Milton mate! Wez vegetarians anna tried some! We wuz gone

dez just a few hops away anna still collecting others soz I sended a
birdy call back anna dey will meet us in da morning. Dis is an
excellent base camp to explore from!

Did you know snakies are scared of noise? Unless dey is friendly
snakies, who like soft party music anna country music, all wez need to
do is play da radio. Da nice ones like da baby python by your foot
like da music anna don't scare ennyone. (Milton jumps back and looks
close. Yup, 6in long little snake swaying to the music with a happy
smile hidden among some brown leaves. It's cute. Then tastes the air
and wanders to the foods anna slurps up a small grub.)
