Apparently, the camera name has resurfaced in the form of some piece of crap point and shoot from China. This is the company that once made the XD-11, arguably, the finest electronic SLR of the 1970's.

It's like a smartphone camera, just much more usable due to the much
better ergonomics. Could be a present for a kid (his/her first camera).

They'd be better-off with a used DSLR/mirrorless which can be had for the same or less money. The camera was being flogged on the Home Shopping Network as "48mp"which is patent B.S. since it's 12mp. The sensor size is 1/2.9"

not to mention the Dynax 7000 i the first AF SLR of the '80s, with motor
drive, DX coding of the film, etc. My aunt brought it with her in '85
from Canada, a true sensation. Back then only a 50 mm 1.8 was available
for this mount. You're right for a little more money you can have an
excellent P&S like the Nikon B-600 (280 euros here) or even an used one,
good ones will last many years. or even a smartphone with a good camera,
my niece bought an used iPhone 10 for not so much money.
