• Pictures from the 2025 Dayton Hamvention

From Bryan@21:1/5 to All on Mon May 19 16:30:48 2025
I was planning on going all three days but decided against Sunday - I
had already seen everything twice and I didn't need to be dragging home
free junk from the scrap piles. This year a lot of people were calling it
a "ham radio" show - that is, more than the usual number of big rigs
showed up for sale. One vendor said that was because everyone was
getting old and they didn't need them anymore.

Friday threatened rain, but it went around us. Saturday was a lovely
sunny and cool day, if a bit on the windy side.

I found a few good deals but didn't find the anchors I was actually
looking for. I broke down and bought a couple of examples from that
auction site that were reasonably priced...

Regardless, it was a good show.

Next show is the SVARC Hamfest in Piketon - a fairly small show,
followed by Breezeshooters in Butler, PA.

Thanks for the photographs! Haven't been to Dayton for decades, even
though I now live in western Pennsylvania.

Looks like fun. I wonder if that giant IBM memory tube lights up.

As for "The once desirable radio... Nothing to listen to these days" --
there is still WA1HLR and the rest of the hi-fi AMers on 160, 75, 40,
    and 10 meters!

    With all good wishes,

    Kevin, WB4AIO.
