    Here's a chance for an interested ham to get an interesting job. The
    Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has started accepting
    applications for a Telecommunications Specialist at its High Frequency Direction Finding Center (HFDFC) in Columbia, Maryland.

    HFDFC supports the FCC Over-the-Air spectrum observation capabilities
    and provides direct support to the public safety community and other
    federal partners by locating interference sources on HF radio spectrum
    (below 30 MHz). The Center is part of the FCC's Public Safety and
    Homeland Security Bureau in the Operations and Emergency Management
    Division.

    You can read more about it at the ARRL website:

    As pointed out by the ARRL Washington Counsel, David Siddall: With
    regard to amateur experience, note that this posting specifically states
    that "Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including
    volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace
    Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
    philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills
    and can provide valuable training and experience that translates
    directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience."

    Hope your summer is going well.
