Next IRTS Committee Meeting
This is a reminder that the next IRTS Committee meeting will take place
on Tuesday, December 5th at 8 p.m. on the Zoom platform. All IRTS
affiliated clubs are reminded that under Rule 16.1, the members in each
affiliated club, society or other body may elect a representative and
an alternate annually to attend IRTS Committee meetings. Clubs wishing
to send a representative should notify the IRTS Secretary, Owen EI4GGB
at irts_secretary /at/ irts.ie.

IRTS News Team Christmas Break
As in previous years, the IRTS News Team will be taking a small break
over the Christmas period. The last 40m and 80m IRTS news bulletins for
2023 will be transmitted on Sunday, December 17th. There will be no
news bulletins on either Sunday December 24th or Sunday, December 31st.
Normal bulletins will resume on Sunday, January 7th, 2024.

Tipperary Amateur Radio Group AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Tipperary Amateur Radio Group will be
held at The Princess Bar, Irishtown Upper, Clonmel, Co Tipperary on
Wednesday the 6th of December 2023 at 8 p.m. The Eircode for this venue
is E91 PW90. The meeting is open to all and Short Wave Listeners are in
particular very welcome to attend. For more information about Tipperary

South Dublin Radio Club Christmas Party
This year's South Dublin Radio Club Christmas Party will take place on
Tuesday the 12th of December 2023 at 8 p.m. The venue will be the "The
Morgue" pub in Templeogue Village, Dublin. Members of other clubs and
visitors are as usual very welcome to this social event. Limited free
food will be available for paid-up members and visitors can choose from
the bar menu until 9 p.m. The club will then break for Christmas and
return on January 9th, 2024.

North Dublin Radio Club Christmas Party
North Dublin Radio Club report that their Christmas party will take
place on Saturday December 16th in the Coachman's Inn near Dublin
Airport. It will start at 8 p.m. If you'd like to come along and
celebrate with them, please contact Tony EI6K on 086 298 5776 to
express your interest. The deadline has been extended to December 6th.

Santa on the Airwaves
Shannon Basin Radio Club wish to remind everyone that Santa is taking
time out from his busy schedule to have some QSOs with junior ops on
Saturday December 9th. He will be QRV calling as Echo Icicle Two Santa
Before Christmas (EI2SBC) via the club's repeater from 5 p.m. local
time onwards. Junior ops are welcome to have a QSO with Santa in his
home QTH. It will be an opportunity to confirm you're on his good list.
The EI2SBR repeater located on Sliabh Bán in Roscommon has an output
frequency of 145.775 MHz and uses a 77Hz CTCSS tone. For details on

Shannon Basin Radio Club AGM
Continuing with Shannon Basin Radio Club, they announce that their 2023
AGM will take place on Friday December 8th. The venue is Hannon's Hotel
just outside Roscommon town and the Eircode is F42 PH33. The meeting
will commence at 8 p.m. sharp. All are welcome including newly
licenced, SWLs, and anyone with an interest in radio in general. If
planning to attend, the club would appreciate an email to admin /at/
sbrc.ie so they can update the hotel catering team.

Engineers Ireland Guest Lecture by IRTS President Enda Broderick EI2II
The Electronic and Computing division of Engineers Ireland is delighted
to welcome IRTS President and engineer Enda Broderick EI2II to Clyde
Road in Dublin 4. Enda will deliver a lecture titled "From Signals to
Solutions: Amateur Radio's impact on the Future of Engineering &
Science, Technology Engineering, Art, and Maths (referred to as
STEAM)". They hope to be joined by the engineering community, amateur
radio experimenters and all interested members of the public.
Enda will explore how the modern version of amateur radio can impact
the interest of future generations to look at engineering differently.
The hobby has all the elements associated with STEAM and can be used to
develop a creative and fun environment to develop within.
It will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday December 6th, 2023, at 22
Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and online via the Zoom platform.
