For all the talk of how the new system was going to revamp the
competition I can't help but think that the teams who were eliminated at
the first stage were pretty much the teams you'd have expected to be >eliminated before the competition started.
The only real "surprises" were Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester
City and PSG not finishing in the top 8, but they live to fight another
day, so it's all a bit zzzzz.......?
