The irony of opening my new Turkey home shirt today to find the words
“made in Georgia” printed inside the collar.

Also, the home shirt is white but it looks like they’re going to wear
red today so I needn’t have paid for express delivery.

Just seen some pictures on tv, it looks like Dortmund is already full
with crazy Turkish fans playing drums and jumping up and down cheering
    their team.

Kick off isn’t for three and a half hours :)

25 minutes, Georgia head a Turkish cross away but only as far as Mert
Muldur who volleyed into the top corner! 1-0 Turkey.

32 minutes Georgia low cross from the right turned into goal by
Mikautadze. A simple finish to make it 1-1.

    HT: Turkey 1 - Georgia 1

An all too familiar story from a Turkish perspective. Lots of attacking pressure for the first half of the first half, but generally with no penetration. Then Muldur’s volley put Turkey 1-0 up. Turkey had the ball
in the net shortly after but it was rightly ruled out for offside.
Georgia looked threatening on the counter attack and found their
equaliser and grew into the half from there on and could be 2-1 up.
    Turkey hit the post too.

Wonder strikes notwithstanding it’s hard to see where a Turkey goal will
come from, but the more you try the better chance you have I suppose.

35 minutes: volley from Mikautadze narrowly misses. Georgia could have
    been 2-1 up there.

A wonder strike it was! 65 minutes Arda Guler shoots from outside the
area into the top corner! 2-1 to Turkey!

    Well, what a finish.

Yusuf Yazici had a chance to put Turkey 3-1 up but the Georgia keeper
    saved his header.

Then Georgia miss a golden chance to equalise when two players go for
the same ball in the area and they mess up the shot.

In injury time a Georgia shot looked to be going in but some last ditch defending from Turkey saw the ball headed to safety.

Finally, with the Georgia keeper up for a last second corner, Turkey
clear and find Kerem Akturkoglu, who broke away as the only player in
the Georgia half to finish into the empty net and win the match 3-1 for
    Turkey.

Well done Turkey for getting their first opening match win at the Euros
but I’m not convinced at how well they’d defend against the better
    teams.

I did not see the match, but Mr Lily White said exactly that, he really did.

It is super hot here on the Iceberg, like 43C or something crazy. It is
too hot to even drink beer outside!

So Ronaldo and Pepe starting for Portugal, sorta nice to see old guys
    still playin.

Portugal is my pick to win it all, I guess I ll see if they are for real.

Pretty disappointing so far. Lots of possession, almost zero output.
Ronaldo did have one chance following a great through ball by Bruno
Fernandes (well saved by the keeper), but I suspect that VAR would have
    called that off.

On pretty much the first time Czechia venture out of their own half
Provod finds the back of the net with a brilliant strike.
