• Copa America QF 2024 Arg v Ecu (R)

From Mark@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jul 4 11:15:27 2024
Why is this match being played today? Ie 1 match today, 1 tomorrow and 2
on Saturday, as opposed to 2 on each day or all 4 on separate days?

Because any match featuring Kanada is such a big worldwide event it must
    be played on it's own.

As for the game today, which also is a Messi match, so it must also be
played on it's own, may not even feature Messi.

Ok, Messi is playing, everyone can breath a huge sigh of relief. The
head to head record between Argentina is 24 wins for the Argies and 4
for Ecuador and it is hard not to predict another Argentina win. I
guess for the Canadian and Venezuelan fans, they will hope it ends 2-2
with 50 cards flying, going to penalties with thunder and lightning
storms and the game taking 12 hours to play.

It is funny how a lot of people are saying Ronaldo should not be playing
for Portugal, he is a bother and is bad for the team and all that kinda
thing. You dont hear that about Messi and Argentina.

It looks like it is going to penals, there is no Extra time in the Copa
until the final I think. Ecuador certainly had chances, including a pk
from Valencia that hit the post, but waited until the 92 minute to tie
the game at 1-1. They actually had another chance in the 96 minute to
win it. Is this the biggest upset in the history of the Universe?

Ecuador's coach has been sacked now. They had a decent Copa America and
aren't doing badly in the World Cup qualifiers, so I don't understand
    why!
