Zambia started the 2020 Olympics with a 10-3 defeat against the
Netherlands, and followed it up with a 4-4 draw against China. USA are
the most successful team in the history of Women's football, the
Champions of North America, and 1 of the favourites to win the Olympics
this year. This one should be fun.
The spying worked for the Canadians, but the scandal was enough to get
the coach sent home in disgrace.

They seem to have done this for years.
I demand a replay of the 2001 game beween Sweden and Canada. OR if not possible, that Canada's PS win is forfeit and Sweden gets the gold
medal.

Lengthy suspensions for the parties involved, and 6 point penalty to the Canadian team, to be applied immediately in these Games.
Canadians now up to zero points and third place in their group. A win
vs. Colombia would make them second (assuming France gets at least a
draw vs. NZ). But being Canada they will probably lose or draw and that
will be the end of it.

Match Day 3:
Group B
Australia - USA 1-2
Zambia - Germany 1-4
USA first, Germany second, Australia 3rd on 3 points and -3 GD.
Group C:
Brazil - Spain 0-2 (Marta red card in the 45th minute)
Japan - Nigeria 3-1
Spain first, Japan second. Brazil 3rd on 3 points and -2 GD
Group A
still about 10 minutes + (very long) stoppage time to go:
Colombia - Canada 0-1
New Zealand - France 1-2
If results stand, it would be France first, Canada 2nd, and Colombia 3rd
on 3 points and 0 GD.

And those were the final scores. So Colombia and Brazil advance as best >thirds, Australia out.
QF matchups:
France-Brazil
Spain - Colombia
USA - Japan <-- This one looks tasty!
Canada - Germany
Canada - Germany

This one's hard to predict. It'll probably be a draw. I'll go for a
Canada win, probably after extra time and possibly penalties.

I was right about this being a draw; I got the winner on penalties
wrong though.
Is that 2 and a half out of 4 then?
I predict that USA will beat Germany and Spain will beat Brazil in the semi-finals.

50% success rate with those predictions. Not bad. Not particularly
good though.
Brazil were playing in the wrong colour shorts against Spain.
What changed for Spain and/or Brazil? Why did Spain win earlier in the tournament and yet Brazil won yesterday?
