• 2024 Olympics Women's Football Final USA v Brazil (R)

From Mark@21:1/5 to All on Fri Aug 9 11:59:54 2024
The most succesful women's national team in the world and current
Champions of North America against the 4th most successful team in the
World and current Champions of South America.

Hey does that mean the winners of this will also be the Champions of
America, if you think of it as a single continent?

USA, like Spain, started the tournament well, but seem to have
struggled in the knockout rounds. Brazil have done the opposite; they
struggled in the 1st round but then got very good results in the
    knockout rounds (so far).

I predict USA will win. Brazil are very good, but I can't see them
beating France (away), Spain AND the USA.

Actually I forgot to make a prediction for the bronze medal match. I
predict Spain will win that. I can't see them only drawing with
Colombia, losing against Brazil, and losing against Germany.

If USA win this, does that make me an Olympic Champion? I considered
myself a World Champion when we won the Women's World Cup; the olympics
seems different somehow though, maybe because as far as I know there's
no trophy for the team, just medals for the individual players. Can
coaches, fans etc consider themselves Olympic Champions, the same as
they can consider themselves World Champions when their team wins a
    World Championship?

Has everyone gone to sleep? Has RSS finally died? Am I the only person
that's been following the Olympics Women's Football since the
    quarter-finals?

I'm (sort of) an Olympic Champion now!

So USA are Champions of America now?

I got another mediocre 50% success rate for my predictions in the final
    round of games.

it worse my 198th favourite team in the world won the gold.
