• RSS Coach Sacking Competition 2024

From Futbolmetrix@21:1/5 to All on Sat Aug 31 16:59:29 2024
You have 10 points which you can allocate to as many coaches as you want
from the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga,
Spanish Liga, and French Ligue 1.

Maximum 3 points per coach, decimal points allowed.

Any coach that you nominated and gets sacked (or resigns, voluntarily or
not) before December 31, you get the points, BUT there is a twist!

    - A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Champions League
group stage: your points are multiplied by 3

    - A coach sacked by a team participating in this year's Europa League or Conference League group stage: your points are multiplied by 2

    - Any other team: your points are multiplied by 1

    Deadline: Friday September 13.

What about deaths? Included in involuntary resignations, I suppose?

The multipliers make this hard. The pillaging of teams like Stuttgart, Bologna, Atalanta by bigger teams makes it harder. This calls for
    reflection.

It's early Sunday morning so off the top of my head I'll go
    with...

Unfortunately, yes. The "voluntary or not" clause is included because
you sometimes can't really know whether a resignation is voluntary or
not. So, to be on the safe side, any coach that leaves his post before
Dec 31 counts (hmm... I wonder if some club owners could find ways to
make an "accident" happen when they can't resolve a tricky contract situation...)

Thanks. Mourinho in principle could be sacked or leave
Fenerbahce (not included in the list of RSSCSC leagues), then
picked up by a team in an RSSCSC league and sacked again
before the end of December, so he is a valid pick. Not one
very likely to yield points, but still valid.

You're right, of course. <shrugs> It was early in the morning!

I will submit a revision when I've thought more about it!

And if I forget to submit a revision, then I will just have to
hope for that [highly-improbable] double-whammy to happen!!! :-)

In any case, I will accept picks and revisions up until
11:59GMT of Friday September 13. If no revisions are
submitted, your last pick is the one that counts for the
    purposes of RSSCSC.

Why is it so Eurocentric? If you included leagues from the rest of the

With Manchester United sitting 14th in the Premier League table
this morning, Erik ten Hag getting sacked is the least
    surprising news of the day...

IS Nuri sahin next ? Another loss today after being given the dreaded
vote of confidence. Was there anything in his coaching background that indicated he was ready for a club as big as BVB, given how young he is.

There are quite a few rumors floating around that he could get the sack
