It seems like a long time since we have had Nationsliga games? These
club football breaks get longer and longer. AS was the case before, we
still really have no idea how it works and what you get if you win and
how you can qualify for World Cups and Euros and such.
The latest theory is that the top 8 teams will automatically qualify for
the World Cup, but we have no confirmation of this theory.

That theory would actually make sense and give people a reason to watch
the Nations League.
As it happens, the part that's relevant to World Cup qualification was
already decided when the group stage ended.

Well, the quarterfinal results will also help define UEFA WCQ groups A,
C, D, E, F, G, I and L, so there's that too.
Spain vs Netherlands
Winner plays in Group E, with Turkey, Georgia and Bulgaria. Loser goes
to Group G, with Poland, Finland, Lithuania and Malta.
For a bit of trivia, Spain is the only remaining team in the world that
never lost a home WCQ game. Their streak is now on 61 games, three short
of Brasil's run of 64 (which fell to Argentina last year). So, depending
on where they go from this tie, they can either match or surpass the
record on this cycle already. Turkey could do something really funny
then, if they get in your group :-)
France vs Croatia
Winner goes into Group D, with Ukraine, Iceland and Azerbaijan, while
Loser plays Group L, with Czech Republic, Montenegro, Faroe Islands and Gibraltar.
Portugal vs Denmark
Winner plays in Group F, with Hungary, Republic of Ireland and Armenia,
while Loser goes into Group C, with Greece, Scotland and Belarus.
Germany vs Italy
Winner goes to Group A and faces Slovakia, Northern Ireland and
Luxembourg. Loser goes to Group I and plays Norway, Israel, Estonia and Moldova.
But regardless of that, I think that on their own this seems to be a
strong set of knockout games. Germany vs Italy is always a big one, and
the other three games look interesting as well. IMHO this wouldn't look
out of place in, say, an Euro's quarterfinal round.

Panama get to keep the Canal, now we find out if the final is vs kanada
or Mexico.
Though you just know the Maericans will somehow turn arounfd this result through some bs legal action. That is the way they are, Really have to
rid the world of USA, before it is too late.

It looks like a lot of today's Nations League matches are being streamed
for free on the Viaplay International Youtube Channel and Scotland -
Greece is being broadcast here on the BBC, so I should be able to watch
some of the action.
As Binder has previously alluded to, no one seems to be quite sure what
these Nations League teams are actually playing for, but the current
working theory is that they're all playing for a spot in this summer's Intertoto Cup. We'll get one of the team to fact check that.
In the meantime, the fixtures are:
2pm GMT:
Georgia - Armenia (Georgia lead 3-0 on aggregate)
5pm GMT:
Slovenia - Slovakia (0-0 on aggregate)
Iceland - Kosovo (Kosovo lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Ireland - Bulgaria (Ireland lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Serbia - Austria (1-1 on aggregate)
Scotland - Greece (Scotland lead 1-0 on aggregate)
Hungary - Turkey (Turkey lead 3-1 on aggregate)
7.45PM GMT:
Belgium - Ukraine (Ukraine lead 3-1 on aggregate)
Germany - Italy (Germany lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Portugal - Denmark (Denmark lead 1-0 on aggregate)
Spain - Netherlands (2-2 on aggregate)
France - Croatia (Croatia lead 2-0 on aggregate)

lol, I was just talking about the Inter toto cup with Mr Lily White
( except that he is nothing like the Lily White character. he is from Birmingham and is a Newcastle fan). They got money winnings from the
loto companies if i understand correctly. ANd they had multiple winners.
In the meantime, the fixtures are:
2pm GMT:

It probably ended 10-0? I watched the 1st half
5pm GMT:
Slovenia - Slovakia (0-0 on aggregate)
Iceland - Kosovo (Kosovo lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Ireland - Bulgaria (Ireland lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Serbia - Austria (1-1 on aggregate)
This should be the match to watch, long rivalry between these two teams,
goes back to when the Kaiser was back up keeper for Austria.
Scotland - Greece (Scotland lead 1-0 on aggregate)
Hungary - Turkey (Turkey lead 3-1 on aggregate)
7.45PM GMT:
Belgium - Ukraine (Ukraine lead 3-1 on aggregate)
Germany - Italy (Germany lead 2-1 on aggregate)
Portugal - Denmark (Denmark lead 1-0 on aggregate)
Spain - Netherlands (2-2 on aggregate)
France - Croatia (Croatia lead 2-0 on aggregate)
The four A matches are still wide open in my opinion, The Old Croatians cant play twice in 3 days.
RM
HT:
Hungary 0 - Turkey 2
Calhanoglu with a penalty and Guler after a well worked passing move in
the penalty area. Before Turkey scored Hungary missed some good chances. Turkey lead 5-1 on aggregate.
Scotland 0 - Greece 2
High pressing and clinical counterattacking have turned the tie around
in Greece’s favour, they now lead 2-1 on aggregate.
