• European SFs Day 2 [r]

From FF@21:1/5 to All on Tue May 6 19:51:02 2025
    Inter - Barca 2 - 0

Great penalty call. Video refereeing lesson. This would never have been
given before, but the replay shows clearly that there's a foul.
    It's almost a different game.

Now Barca show their worth. 2 - 2. Incredible comeback. I didn't think
they could do it after the first half.
This leg is as good as the first one.

I think that should have been a penalty for Barca. It started outside
but there was clear contact inside the box too. Too bad because
otherwise it was a beautiful match.
Hard to tell what would have happened had it been given. Both teams had
good play periods and could have won with a bit of luck.

Wrong penalty call IMO. Ball to hand.

Fortunately the execution is totally lame.

    Hakimi fixes things. 2 - 0, and it's over.

Another wrong decision. It was a clear foul in the buildup of Saka's
goal. I think this is the worst officiated game I've seen in the UCL
since the video ref was introduced.

    Anyway, 2 - 1. But it's still over.

The CL will be between PSG (FR) vs Inter Milan (IT)

    Indeed.

I want to make clear that I had no idea you all were posting in the
other thread (which wasn't properly named) when I opened this one.

As for the final, it will probably be wide open, with Inter slight
favorites from what I saw in the semis.

    The more the merrier...

Incidentally, did you see that Mike Arteta had the cheek to say
after the match that the best team lost? He also said the Arse
were the best team in the competition!

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cm25231y63no

I don't know what matches he was watching?!

For me, over the two legs PSG were the better team. There wasn't
a lot in it, but still, I did think PSG deserved to go through.

As for the final, it will probably be wide open, with Inter
slight favorites from what I saw in the semis.

My money would be on Inter-Milan...

    As for the rest

    UECL

    :)
Well, guess what. The keeper is part of the team. You can't say Arsenal
was better - if only Donnaruma hadn't been so good. If you're not good
enough to beat him, you lose.
That's same as Liverpool - Real a couple of years ago. Courtois was
literally from another planet in that game, and it didn't help that
Liverpool had a lot of chances that would have been goals with any
    other keeper

I don't know what matches he was watching?!

No question about it. They won both games, right ? Arsenal had almost
90 minutes to equalize, at home, and weren't able to.
Such comments in such circumstances only make you look like a sore
    loser.

As for the final, it will probably be wide open, with Inter

Mine too but don't count PSG out yet. Especially after they've beaten
Arsenal so clearly. They'll be in the right mindset. Inter too of
course. It could make for a very good final. Both teams have reason to
fear the other one and give it all they have. We'll see.

Could go either way... Inter-Milan looked the part in the
Semi-Final against Barcelona so I'll stick with them. But if
it's as good a Final as those two games were we'll be in for a
    treat.

    As for the rest

    UEL

Tough one... I suppose Man Utd would be the lesser of two evils.

    UECL

    Chelsea vs Real Betis!

    Go Chelsea!

    Hmm... another tough one.
