I was wondering how they'd managed to score that many goals in such a
short time! That would be incredible!

    Hehe... indeed.

Interestingly enough, the table standings before the beginning of MD6
    were:

    Sweden 9
    Denmark 9
    Italy 7

Meaning that a draw between Sweden and Denmark (with Italy beating bottom-feeder Wales) would have resulted in all teams tied on 10 points.
    Sounds familiar?

Unfortunately for the friendly Scandinavians (friendly between
themselves, that is), a draw would put Italy in second place over
Denmark, because of better goal diff in the three-way table. No biscotto
    for the ladies :-/

(Italy beat Wales 4-1 and stays in League A, while Denmark goes to the relegation playoff)

Yes, all Italy had to do was to get a better goal diff. This time they did!

Valentino Mazzola scored three goals in three minutes, the right pace
    to make 5-1 in 6' ;o)

Get a better goal difference in the head-to-head matches. Yesterday they
could have beaten Wales 10-0 (they were up 4-0 at halftime) and it
wouldn't have been enough to clinch first place, regardless of the
    outcome of SWE-DEN.

(The fact that only the top team advanced to the Nations League finals
made the biscotto scenario even less likely... Still interesting,
    though)

Ah, he needs to keep it up for 6 minutes though.
