    Following this closely. Mjällby would be absolutely up
    there as European domestic champions from the
    smallest place ever.

    If I’m not mistaken the population of Hällevik proper,
    where the stadium is located, is still below 1,000,
    perhaps comparable only to TNS in Wales when they
    still played in Llansantffraid. Even Ã…tvidaberg is a
    big place in comparison.

    Even if they just qualify for Europe (which they have
    never managed before) they’d be close to the
    all-time record there, but the competition is stiffer,
    with places like Petrovac in Montenegro or Bala in
    Wales having played internationally, too.

    And Hällevik is also not the smallest village this year
    with a first-division team in a reasonably big league,
    that honour belongs to Niecziecza (pop. ~750) in the
    Polish Ekstraklasa.
