Women's CL is on again today and tomorrow, for those who wish to fill a World Cup void.
    About to start :
    Arsenal-Juve
    Bayern-Barcelona

Juve has managed to hold Lyon and Arsenal to draws at home, but they will likely need to win one of their two away matches to advance. Seems like a tall task, especially given their shaky form in the domestic league (trailing league leaders Roma by 6
    points)

On the weekend in Serie A:

    Roma - Juventus 2-4

The match was played at Roma's 3 Fontane ground in front of a loud contingent of about 2,500 fans. Some fans (on both sides) were not too happy that the women's game seems to have imported some of the negative chants and attitude from the men's game. Meh.
..there's a nice rivalry building up between Roma and Juve, bring it on!

    FT: Arsenal - Juve 1-0

Juve now needs to beat Zurich in the next round, and:
Arsenal beat OL --> a draw in Lyon is enough to advance
Arsenal-OL is a tie --> a draw in Lyon is enough if they beat Zurich by three clear goals
OL-beats Arsenal --> Need to win Lyon

65 minutes in, at a snow-covered (and almost empty) Juventus Stadium: Juve-Zurich 5-0

    Yes, a tall task.

    Elsewhere: Bayern - Barca 3-1

Lyon's goal quite clearly offside. Viv Miedema had to be carted off towards the end of the first half with what looked a lot like an ACL injury :-(

Juve will now have to win in Lyon to advance to the knockout round. Not gonna happen.

And Lyon and PSG are as dominant as they already were in France. They're playing each other this weekend.

    Lyon 0 PSG 1!

The other club from Paris (I think they're just called Paris) are doing well this season; they're 3rd. And Montpellier are 4th.

And in Germany Turbine Potsdam go into the belated mid-season break bottom of the table with 1 point. Eintracht Frankfurt hanging in there in 3rd place at the moment.

    0-0. Close, but no cigar.

    Quarterfinalists will be

    ENG: Arsenal, Chelsea
    GER: Bayern, Wolfsburg
    FRA: PSG, Lyon
    ITA: Roma
    ESP: Barcelona

Can we say 'Top 5 Leagues'?

But it's indeed looking very much like the men's game.

    Ciao,
    Werner
