  • So the Russians have taken Chernobyl?

    Why? That seems like a dubious objective! I could see Ukraine being happy
    to say “you’re welcome to it Vlad, it’s your problem now, have fun! Don’t
    forget to have those soldiers checked for cancer in a few years”

    I mean is Chernobyl anything but a liability?

    The only thing I can think of is that they could threaten to blow off the containment dome to try to get Western Europe to stay out of this. It’s upwind to Russia so they wouldn’t be as effected, but I can’t imagine Putin’s lap dog in Belarus
    would be too happy.
