Steve Austin Praises NXT Takeover, Says Montez Ford Could Be WWE Champion
Some Day, Candice vs Io Shirai
Posted: 14 Aug 2019 06:00 AM PDT
https://www.prowrestling.com/steve-austin-praises-nxt-takeover-says-montez-ford-could-be-wwe-champion-some-day-candice-vs-io-shirai/
WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin took a second on the latest
edition of his podcast, The Steve Austin Show, to discuss the recent NXT Takeover: Toronto special at Scotiabank Arena, and had nothing but
incredibly positive things to say about the show.
I saw the opening match the Street Profits vs. Undisputed Era for the tag
team championships for NXT, and that was a pretty damn good match. Man, I
tell you what, the Street Profits. Great chemistry together. Those guys are very charismatic. I think both of those guys, when they get a little
further in to their career you can keep them as a tag team, but you could separate those guys, and you have two very strong guys that could have real long, illustrious singles careers. Thats how much I thought about their potential. Montez Ford, I think hes about 64 they said. Ive seen these
guys a couple of times in some backstage skits. Very charismatic. That dude could have a world championship run down the line if he keeps at it. And by
the same token, so could Angelo Dawkins.
Austin also had some great things to say about the singles match between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae after a hot program between the two over the past month or so.
The one that really jumped off my chart was Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae.
Man, those two women ripped it up. Thats the first time Ive seen Io work,
and Ive been following Candice a little bit, and she can work her ass off.
I tell you man, when Io turned on her when she turned heel and went out
there, her execution, her attitude in that ring, the way she snaps her
moves; man, some of the stuff she does is just lights-out impactful. I dont want to say dangerous, but shes so good at it. Candice was an all-star as
well. Shes kind of like a white-meat, girl-next-door babyface, and full of fire, and was the exact equal to Ios heel work. Phenomenal match. Love the finish. Those two women put on a badass show.
Check out the latest edition of The Steve Austin Show on PodcastOne, featuring an interview with the legendary Chavo Guerrerro Jr., and a length beer-drinking session between the two.

Great news for Stone Cold Steve Austin, as the WWE Hall of Famers brand new series Straight Up Steve Austin debuted to a big number for the USA Network on Monday night, immediately following WWE Raw.
The show was watched by an estimated 1,211,000 viewers in its premiere, an impressive feat given the generally unfavorable 11PM ET timeslot. The show
was #7 on cable television for Monday night, which means that USA dominated
4 out of the top 7 spots for the evening.
For comparison, the debut of Miz & Mrs. on the USA Network last year did
1.47 million viewers on a Tuesday night in a slightly better timeslot, following Smackdown Live, but did only 720,000 viewers for its return this July.
