• Alan, got a favor to ask

I am leaving tommorrow for Long Island. I got finish line grandstand seating for the Belmont Stakes, then 4 days of golf at some decent clubs on the Island.

I need someone to moderate, I will just be too busy. I understand you have no wife or kids, that makes you a good candidate, as I would hate to pull someone away from family. And since you have hundreds of thousands of posts, I know you can be counted
    on to check in frequently.

If you have a race this weekend, just let me know. I have no idea how much the prizes are for these races, but if you are racing, you need to focus on racing, not a bunch of trained seals. I would hate that you would miss out on a prize maybe in the
hundreds of thousands, because your mind was elsewhere. I can only imagine the risk of going fast, and being within feet of another race car. Not for me, you are incredible to say the least.

Now, if anyone here is in the Long Island area, I am part of a threesome for all those rounds. We are playing a few top 100s. We have space. If you are interested, let me know. Unlike some here, when I say I will show, I WILL show. I am an asshole
here, among a sea of assholes, but in person the most fun regular guy you could ever meet.

With regards to the Belmont Stakes, I don't know if there are any horse players here, but $500 to win on Rich Strike is my bet. That horse will hang back until after a mile, and then he will be charging as the others tire.

The Met Mile, you gotta go with Flightline. But at odds of probably 1/5, really bad value, so I will go with Aloha West to show.

There is a big race for the girl horses, I will go with Malathat. She will not be the favorite, that will be Latruska. I will go with a few hundred on Malathat to win, and go with Claviere for second to lock up the exacta.

I love racing, and go 5-6 times a year. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I go with the view I will lose everything, and often it turns out just the opposite. I let my wife pick a lot of the races, she knows nothing about the horses, she is just
lucky. In the end, it is just about luck.

Now if any of you bet my choices, don't cry to me if you lose. No one is forcing you.

Alan, thanks if you can accept the role of moderator till I get back. If you are too busy, no problem my dear friend. Maybe the unemployed dog walker can fill the role. Unlike you , he does not work or race, the salivating clod surely does not golf,
he would probably have the time to fill the role.

My dear friends, fun times for me, and I wish fun times for all of you. To be part of a family like this is beyond rewarding. We may disagree, and exchange insults, but deep down there is a lot of love and respect. Will miss you all
