This isn't true. Golf Pride doesn't pay players to play their grips, which
is actually a better selling point, as most of them do anyways. I think
that it has more to do with having a cleaner look at address. Most club manufactures put the logo on the underside of the shaft when looking at address for this same reason. BTW, every graphite shaft I know of can be installed with the logo in either the 6 or12 o'clock position.

Photo opportunities. When they "hold the pose" at the finish of the follow >through......the logo(s) can be seen. Graphite shaft mfgs also screen their >logos on the "bottom" side of the shaft for the same reason.
