Nevermind that the IRS has had a decade-long hiring freeze, and most

Sorry Tommy, but as I said, you have the basic facts wrong:

Tommy has basic facts about the new reporting law wrong. Sucks to be him.

Specifically, 2022 is the first year of the lower $600 reporting requirement, so since it
isn't isn't 4/15/2023 yet, it just isn't possible for me to have broken this change in the law.

OTOH, you sold your Schleicher ASH 26E sailplane before 2022, for more than $20,000; those
tax returns have already been filed: do _you_ have an applicable 1099-K? Why or why not?

No, it SUCKS to be YOU! Good luck during the audit!!

Audits don't scare me, because they're not a problem for honest people.
I've already been through one audit & sailed right through.

Meantime, got a 1099-K for a sailplane sale?

    -hh

That ISN'T a real audit! That is called a LETTER audit!! A REAL audit is where you go in and meet an auditor FACE TO FACE!!!

You also probably think that you don't need a lawyer when the police want to interrogate you.

BTW, my last sailplane sale DOES have documentation on BOTH the purchase and the sale. I could claim a capital loss, come to think of it.

Hey Bowser Wowser, there will be PLENTY of cries of pain from regular
people when they find that those 87,000 agents are going to be digging
    into THEIR BUSINESS!
Where Tommy’s definition of “regular people” are tax cheats. /s

Nevermind that the IRS has had a decade-long hiring freeze, and most
of this is to fill 50,000 empty slots that already exist, largely in areas
like customer service (eg, phone line, etc).

Hey Lyin' Asshole, have you EVER sold anything that you were paid $600 or more for?

    Yup. Have you?

If so, then YOU are one of the "tax cheats" they are coming for.

    Nope. Are you?

Oh, YES YOU ARE! Do you still have ALL of your records about the history of whatever this is?

Sorry Tommy, but as I said, you have the basic facts wrong:

Tommy has basic facts about the new reporting law wrong. Sucks to be him.

Specifically, 2022 is the first year of the lower $600 reporting requirement, so since it
isn't isn't 4/15/2023 yet, it just isn't possible for me to have broken this change in the law.

OTOH, you sold your Schleicher ASH 26E sailplane before 2022, for more than $20,000; those
tax returns have already been filed: do _you_ have an applicable 1099-K? Why or why not?

    Silence from Tommy.
Gosh. Mayhaps that have been a big old tax fraud by Tommy?
Wonder if the IRS offers rewards on tips? /s

Hmmm… looks like yes, to the tune of 15%-30%: <https://www.irs.gov/compliance/whistleblower-office>

No, it SUCKS to be YOU! Good luck during the audit!!

Audits don't scare me, because they're not a problem for honest people.
I've already been through one audit & sailed right through.

LOL! You've NEVER been audited, have you???

What part of “I've already been through one audit” do you not understand?

    -hh

So you were - what did they audit you for?

    TL;DR: documentation of claimed deductions.
As I said, not a problem for honest people.

Meantime, got a 1099-K for a sailplane sale?

That ISN'T a real audit! That is called a LETTER audit!! A REAL audit is where you go in and meet an auditor FACE TO FACE!!!

Oh, look: Tommy's trying to invoke the "No True Scotsman Audit" gambit.

BTW, my last sailplane sale DOES have documentation on BOTH the
purchase and the sale. I could claim a capital loss, come to think of it.

LOL, nope. A loss on the sale of personal property is not deductible.

Plus even if you were doing something with your sailplane to make money
which you've never bragged to us about, after the passage of the 2017 TCJA, expenses associated with a hobby are no longer deductible expenses.

So once again, you have basic facts wrong.
