• Jon Foss: "humans have >100 swimming adaptations"

From littoral.homo@gmail.com@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 27 09:36:53 2023
AFTER 50 YEARS OF SWIMMING, TEACHING 40
MILLION LESSONS AND TRAINING THOUSANDS OF
INSTRUCTORS, I AM CERTAIN OF TWO THINGS.
    1. ALL HUMANS ARE THE EXACT SAME MACHINE, DESIGNED PERFECTLY TO
    SWIM WELL.
    2. ALL OF SCIENCE UNDERESTIMATES OUR AQUATIC ADAPTATIONS BY AT
    LEAST A FACTOR OF TEN.”
-Jon Foss, teacher, coach, swimming entrepreneur
    ...
WHY ARE OUR AQUATIC ADAPTATIONS UNACKNOWLEDGED BY SCIENCE?
    ‣ IGNORANCE OF SWIMMING, 1991 US NAVY STUDY: 6% OF AMERICANS COULD PASS SWIM COMPETENCY TEST: 300 YARDS OF FREESTYLE.
    ‣ ZERO CROSSOVER BETWEEN ACADEMICS & SWIM INDUSTRY.
    ‣ SOCIAL MISCONCEPTIONS. WIDESPREAD BELIEFS CERTAIN RACES CAN’T SWIM.
    ‣ DOMINANCE OF THE “OUT OF AFRICA” THEORY.
    ‣ SWIMMING PERCEIVED AS AN UNNATURAL “TRICK”.
    ‣ RICH EVIDENCE OF ARCHAIC SWIMMING EVIDENCE IS OBSCURE.
    ‣ AQUATIC THEORY HAS BEEN SEEN AS ADVERSARIAL, NOT COMPLIMENTARY.

Well the people who own & operate paleo anthropology are profoundly racist, and they are so terrified by the ramifications of their beliefs that they have to enforce
this idiocy where anything other than Out of Africa purity is *Racist*!

How is out of Asia or Melanesia or Eurasia racist but Out of Africa is not?

Personally, I don't care. I think it's all about environment and not location.

Or, even a (natural) process rather than a place.

Marc, you are a convoluted moron who has no business in any kind of scientific discussion.

Note the logic here. According to his own evidence humans are bad at swimming.

Take not of the abject, child-like stupidity of Marc's presentation here. The moron seems to not realize that citing evidence of current hominids being bad at swimming is EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT HIS DUMBASS THEORY PREDICTS!!!

I am very intrigued by your introduction of a retrovirus that entered
the African "Ape" population 3 to 4 million years ago but is not
found in Asian species nor humans.

It seems clear evidence for "Out of Asia" but none the less it would
be interesting to see if the mouth breathers could at least attempt
a model that allowed for the Homo line to be exposed to but later
lose the genetic holdovers to this infection.

These RV data have been know for decennia, but (as usual?) neglected.
You know my hypothesis (incl. solution of the RV data):
    - the late-Miocene HPG LCA lived in swamp forests of the then incipient Red Sea, google "aquarboreal",
    - 8 of 7 Ma, Gorilla followed the then incipient northern-Rift -> Afar: Lucy etc.
    - perhaps 5.33 Ma (Zanclean mega-flood: Francesca Mansfield), the Red Sea opened into the Gulf:
    -- Pan went right -> W.Afr.coastal forests -> incipient southern-Rift -> Transvaal australopiths,
    -- Pliocene Homo went left -> S.Asian coasts -> early-Pleist.H.erectus Mojokerto etc.:
    google "coastal dispersal Pleistocene Homo".
