I think, we don't need more proof than this for Global Warming!
Russians love it, it opens up the Arctic region for commercial shipping for them!

Also the Polar Bears all have died out, I heard! (Al Gore told me, who

Not yet, but going to be soon, after the ice is gone!

The end-of-the-world is everytime again like the James Webb launch!
Getting postponed over and over, but it will happen (in the end..)

What has to do with the end of the world?
We will just end up with a planet like in the movie Water world!
Fish will rule the world again, like it did hundreds of million years ago!

Of course that was intended as a joke. We are all familiar with al-Khwarizmi.who,
having written a book about using the Hindu-Arabic place value notation for numbers
and solving algelbraic equations, ended up having the word "algorithm" coined from
his name. It probably came about by accident, because the Latin title of his book on
arithmetic began with his name, and some people no doubt, being unfamiliar with such an exotic name - and it also ended in the letter "I" - thought it was a word meaning
'methods' or something like that which they hadn't seen before. (Algoritmi de Numero
    Indorum)

No, there cannot be a planet (after succesful deployment of the

Fish will rule the world again,
like it did hundreds of million years ago!
But that was before the end of the world! (Although sometimes the

    Quite stylish!

But to return to the topic: why do they compare Oct '91 and Sep 2016
in your first link? In the movie they refer to, there is also very
little ice in the early 80s. (Visible around 1' into the clip:
    <link https://youtu.be/Vj1G9gqhkYA?t=56> ).

And for some strange reason the movie only shows the year in the
upper corner after 1990, but you can extrapolate that of course to
the start, which then seems to be around 1960.

In that first decade (the 60's) there are no large dips in the amount
of ice, but at later times those dips appear and in the final 10 years
of the sequence the amount of ice is low about half of the time. That
would sum up the trend much better than just comparing two different single-point situations (not even from the same month).

No John! He even did more: he actually invented the whole internet.

Of course also there, we later found out there was only limited value

science progresses. In the beginning things are often a bit exaggerated.
