  • Astro-Physics Stowaway sold for $14,000 or $3867 per inch of aperture

    An original 92mm fluorite f/4.9 scope sold on Astromart for that much. Aside from perhaps some Zeiss refractors, that's a pretty steep price.

    Well it did sell, that's a clue.

    I was on a star party and a woman had an AP Stowaway . She said, she's got it from her ex as a divorce settlement.
    At one point, everybody was looking at a faint object, but she couldn't find it, see it in her expensive AP refractor, even few more experienced armatures went over and tried it, no luck.
    But it can be seen in a $500 8" Celestron DOB, one guy had.
    She said, I have an 8" DOB too, I'll bring that next time.
    LOL!
