I have no use for it right now, but who knows, if some project pops up?

I remember someone years ago had come across a ruling engine that allowed the hash marks to be cut into aluminum or brass disks. Last time I saw real setting circles made of
metal, they cost a fair bit. But the Dob maker's are good because the RA circle is large which helps with accuracy. With SCTs, the RA was also large enabling their use that (if you had
proper polar alignment) allowed targeting an object with 5 min accuracy.

This can be printed up to 24" !
Anything larger specialty print shop needed - said the man!

Years ago, I made some setting circles out of cardboard based on the instructions in the book "All About Telescopes" by Sam Brown. I had an
old Edmund heavy duty mount that was missing the original clock drive
when I got it, along with the setting circles. I was able to get a
generic replacement clock drive, but decided to make the setting circles
myself to save at least some costs. Worked well. One of the first
items I tracked for neighborhood viewing was Halley's comet in '86. A disappointment for sure, but still was a decent test subject. Of
course, the reflector was a 4.25" f/10, so probably not the best scope
to use at that time. I don't even think I had yet invested in any RKE eyepieces yet having used the original Ramsden? eyepieces that were in
    the wooden telescope case.
