There's always a new glue invented that can hold it together, I think?

I think it's a bit optimistic to think that we'll still be a
space-faring species capabable of reaching or controlling the ISS by
    2027.

I agree, unless the world does a drastic turnaround and pronto.

I would think that you are underestimating the capability of determined
humans to muddle through even an appalling situation.

Particularly the systems in Chicago and NYC where they whine about a few hundred
illegals dumped in their cities when 5 million have crossed into the USA during Biden's
    administration.

Fortunately, private enterprise (Elon Musk) WILL muddle through.

We could use more coming across our borders. People with real American

Unfortunately, those crossing the border illegally aren't the kind that can launch
spacecraft. You really need to think more than monodimensionally.

And another dimension: the border is open to more than hard-working people. You're
ignoring the hundred thousand killed by fentanyl and other drugs. the many terrorists
that got through (not the ones that were caught). The present situation is indeed
    catastrophic.

We have a generous LEGAL immigration system that Congress can change any time they want. So why don't they close the border and increase the legal limits? THOSE
might just the people Elon at al. need :-)
