Note the line in this rudimentary article on string theory. "Stings are smaller than electrons and quarks."
Electrons and quarks ARE strings. All (if string theory is right) fundamental particles are. I dislike general science writers. Their lack of specialization leads to errors. They are truly the inspiration for the phrase, "Jack of all trades, master of
none." I remember reading one astronomy book written by one and found at least TEN errors across 30 pages. Just for fun, I sent the publisher a note suggesting correcting them on subsequent (if any) printings. Truth is, it should have been recalled and
destroyed.
