    It is well into that long twilight at the South Pole latitude as it turns, parallel to the orbital plane, into the dark hemisphere before the polar night really sets in.

    Thankfully they have added an additional camera marking this great surface rotation to the Sun and when allied with daily rotation, gives us the seasons at lower latitudes.

    The transition from the extended polar twilight to darkness is fairly rapid from mid-April and so well worth a look at the time-lapse. The full moon almost appears like the Sun in that time-lapse as it spirals up in its monthly circuit of the Earth. It
    is truly an amazing spectacle and like most others things, would only appeal to those who have a soft love of these observations and what they mean.

    Sometimes my heart breaks but such is a life loving what is in front of us.
